West Coast Nationals at Las Vegas

I recently read an article stating that in the early 90's, Vegas (starting with MGM Grand) got this brilliant idea to make the area more of a family town. The plan backfired and now we're returning to more of the Sin City image. Looking back through the replies to this post, it's evident that this bunch of racers loves coming to Vegas to help put the Sin in the name!:D
I started this thread in case there were questions about the race, etc. But instead we're having more of a discussion about Saturday's booze'n fest. I look forward to the party myself. But, like last year, PLEASE make sure that NO one drinks and drives! They just raised the alcohol tax here, to help pay state tax. So the idea of importing a keg, might not be too shabby of an idea! Let 87Regal know.
It woud appear through my estimates that there will be more people here than last year. (Don't hold me to this, it's still almost a month off!)

I think it was Circus Circus first for the families, circa 69'........ then I think late 80's came Excalibar, MGM, Luxor......in that order. But now I believe that casinos like the one I work at (The Palms) are taking over with the back to basics stuff... sex sells no doubt about it! If you have ever been to Ghost Bar or Rain night club on the weekends you'll know what I'm talking about!! Anyways the newest thing that we have is the addition of a tattoo shop that will be opening some time early next year...... were the hell am I going with this.. well whatever. uhh ok:rolleyes:

I think you're just trying to pad your post count. Catching up on that year off.:D

Well its all settled, I will be there thursday Am waiting for Len at the airport. PLane tickey is on the way. So i will get to meet you guys.\Otto
Cant wait WHOOOHOOO

I figured that if I made a big deal about me taking some time off the board everyone wouldn't have known what to do.... the posts would stop, people would ask questions, beg me to come back, wondering where I'm at, I would get private emails etc so I figured that I wouldn't put people through that whole worrying process ya know the where is WHOOSH thing ...alright one more post and more BS :D

Anyone leving from or driving through Sacramento sometime friday morning? If so, let me know, I will be headed through sometime late late thursday night or early Fri. morning. Wouldnt mind joining anyone else heading over, usually helps to have a caravan going.

I can pick anyone up also....as long as its not friday night...

Things are coming together nicely.....a few more heads up cars....would be nice.

Cash for low et stock block street car.

supras will also be here....probably at the luxor, so keep some good gas in the tank;)

Didn't I read somewhere that heads up must be street legal cars??

Wouldn't that cut all the S2 cars out of heads up (except Neil)?

CC, yes you're correct.
Think about out THE fast TT stage car that lives right here in Vegas. Would anyone in a stage 2 be willing to race him in heads up knowing that he's a good 2 seconds faster than everyone else. By keeping Jon's "street legal" rule from last year, it helps level the playing field.

I just read the WCN webpage....I see that there are 4 S2 heads up cars. That's cool.

BTW Jack, I'm willing to kick old whats-his-names twin turbo car right after I kick Jason's butt. I may bring my 15 second speed demon. It's a twin turbo also. At least it was when I raced it because Shawn loaned me a turbo to try and it was in the trunk while I was racing. :D

Thinking about going to the WC nats. Is it like Bowling green, with a swap meet?

No swap meet. The closest thing is those that setup trades ahead of time. Go to Parts for Sale, and there's a sticky at the top.

John Craig will be there. Buy a turbo and he'll deliver it to ya there.

Bruce Toelle will be there as far as I know. Buy a tranny and he'll put it in for ya in the parking lot. ;)

Len Freeman will be there. But another tranny from him since Bruce will expire from exertion before the tranny is in and Len will let you use his lift.

Jack Cotton won't be there cause he's a big wuss and won't drive a few miles. :D

Nick Micale will be there selling pink hats. (BG joke)

Ron Neisler will be there selling tickets to watch Shawn wait for Len.

Jack Bilger will be there selling trophies :)

I won't be there .... apparently I have to go to Pahrump.

Actually, I'll be there to take pictures to use for next year's CC mock trophy! :D

I don't know exactly which vendors are displaying their wares this year. That's a question for the other two organizers.

CC -- maybe you could talk the Pahrump girls into displaying their wares? That would surely help attendance!
