    New A/C cutout relay problem

Anyone got any ideas as to what color wires connect to which? I am replacing the a/c cutout that was not there before due to a shredded tire incident by my FIL a while back. I ordered a new relay from Casper's and the wires don't match what was left behind. I do need some guidance on this.

No start, popping C3I fuse (Pic added)

I have finally gotten around to the restoration of my wife's 87 T. Engine disassembly went without a hitch, replacing the timing chain, water pump, head/intake/exhaust/valve cover gaskets, lapped valves with new springs and umbrella seals on intake, motor mounts and new crank sensor (as I broke...

New or just a replacement radiator...

It has been a while since I have been here but I am at a point to where I am at a crossroads. The 87 T-Type needs a complete overhaul of the cooling sysytem before it goes back on the road. So far, the water pump (AC-Delco) upper/lower rad hoses, water neck outlet (AC/Delco) and thermostat has...

    Blue smoke upon start-up...

I know its been a while since I posted last but I have been busy with work, resurrecting a '67 VW while working on the '87 T-Type. What I am getting is blue smoke upon startup and it *seems* to go away when the engine is up to op temp. The T-Type has 64xxx miles showing on the odometer and I...

    Code 22 on '87 T-Type...

I recently replaced some throttle gaskets/seals and that required the removal of the TPS. Putting the TPS back was not an exact science but I got as close as I could where it originally was. The idle was high and an adjustment brought it down to what it was before. Now, I have a code 22...

What's a good set of plug wires to get?

Since I am in the processing of making the '87 TR in a more driveable sense, I will have to replace the plug wires. Not without spending a huge amount of money, whats the best wires for the dollar? As you can see, there is a mismatch here... Thanx... Dave

Why its important to "Spring Clean"...w/ pics...

I had read the article on gnttype website and cleaning the intercooler caught my eye. It never occurred to me to do such a thing. I had been accumulating oil on top of the IC but never could figure out where it was coming from. Fresh from an engine clean, I let the engine run to burn off the...

Possible need for new trans mount? Pics...

I took some pix of what is the trans mount on the crossbar. I also took some pix of the cross member mounts as well. To me, it looks like they are original and in need of replacing. I discovered these when I was investigating a "clunk" when the trans goes into gear. I isolated the sound to...

    New lower control arms install...

Got the new LCA's from HRpartsandstuff and they look great. Got the bushings in and ready to put one LCA in and it turns out they are short. Or at least I think they are. Fitting one up it was tight in the foward bracket and the rear bracket had these two plates that were bolted on the...

    Making a IC scoop...

Just as the title says, I would like to make an IC scoop. The one on the '87 TR is shot and I would like to get it replaced. I did a search but did not really turn up much except IC scoops and related topics. Are there plans on how to make on in here on the web or am I on my own...

    Broken mount tab on plenum???

I took this pic of what I think is a cracked mount tab on the intake plenum. Here it is... Relatively easy to replace? Should there be some type of phenolic block underneath? The second pic shows something like that, I just am not sure... Dave

Keep blowing fuel pump fuse... wit's end...

First off, the car is a '87 Buick T-Type, stock for the most part. Where I am having the problem is the fuel pump fuses keep blowing after installing Casper Elec. fuel pump relay. The TR does have an additional fuel pump (rotary) in addition to the fuel pump in the tank. The pump in the tank...

    Rear traction bars and bushings...pictures...

Folks, I seem to be having a problem with the rear alignment affecting the front. When I put the Buick in gear, I get a clunk. But once in gear and driving, there is no more sounds (clunking). I checked the u-joint and its good. The picture below shows a crack in the mount of the RR traction...

    MAP sensor in '87 T-Type...

I have looked at Casper Elec. website and am coming up with a blank. I have even looked a the 1987 Buick Service manual to find a schematic for the MAP. Nothing there. Long story short, when the tire blew out it tore the wheel well out and took some items with it. I have figured out that the...

    Body option codes...

I have, for the most part, figured out most of the codes my '87 TR has. But a few elude me. The following codes are what I can't figure out or cannot find the info one: E7Z, FFL, GMD, PDN, YT9 and 828. If anyone has the info on these, I sure would appreciate it... Dave BTW, the '87 TR has...

    New to site here...

Wanted to come in here and hopefully gain a bit of working knowledge. My name is Dave and I have a 1987 Buick Regal T-Type parked in the garage. It was my father-in-laws that he bought a while back. He redid the front-end suspension before moving north to Minn. He stored it in a covered...
