How did(or didn't) convince your wife or how can I convince mine?

My wife was pushing me to buy our GN. She never saw one before and being from Germany didn't even know what a GN was. Well I counted on her telling me I wasn't going to buy an old car but when we first pulled up next to it she exclaimed "we gotta buy that car". The only argument about the GN is who's car it really is, cant help but love her.

Back in the day my wife had a black v6 Buick Riv, when the time came to replace it she said no more black cars and no v6 , too Slow.
My friend in the car biz had a lightly used 86 GN (this was in 89). One test drive and it was "WOW this is the car for me". Still have it.

I am so glad to be single..and really ok with it! Marriage is a lot of work..I appreciate what you guys do!

If......these knuckle heads convince you to just buy it. I would immediately deploy emergency counter measures.

Sleep only in a water bed....(if you seen the movie you will understand)
Sleep with one eye open and only while wearing a cup....( reference Bobbet)
Let kids try all foods before you eat...( she will stop them)
Have a porn stash...( self explanatory)
O and putt around in it for at least 6 months because if it breaks down the first week. You will never hear the end of it.

Good luck

No but this guy called me asking if i knew Charlief1 or anything about him. Said he was working for PETA now.

But Ronnie, you were the one that wanted to go midnight drag. My guess is that those hairy legs of yours just don't look right when you wear heels?:p Aj's a squid so I'm sure he could teach you.;)

Stuff like this is why I will never get married. When I bought mine my girlfriend at the time said she didn't like it. The next week I had a new girlfriend. She buys me car parts and loves my car. As you could guess I really like this one, but if she ever gets snippy about my turbo addiction I'll find another one.

Right on, Bro. You have a great attitude!!! :)

I don't get this crap about asking someone for permission to buy something, there's a lot of women out there..........
Lot easier to get a new woman than a new Grand National..........

i got a pair of Micky Thompson pumps that stick so well its my secret weapon! my wifes jealous cause my calfs look better. Im sure you would love to see my ass in heels. o_O

I think only Ty is faster than me....

You already missed your window....
Women are like carpet........? If you laid it right the first time, you can walk on it for the next 20 yrs....:D

O and when you do get it. ( I have confidence in ya ) have all new parts sent to a trusted friends address.
And I say trusted or it could be used against you.

If you have any local car clubs see if they do cruises... Where they hit a couple burger and malt shops and go with them. She will see how much fun it is. Do not take her all day to a car show....repeat do not take her all day to a car show.

First and third quotes are on the money. Although on the second one my wife tells me she is sick of packages coming every week.

Thank god I wear the pants in the family or I might be relegated to driving her 63 rambler cross country wagon. LOL

Good luck to the original poster, face it, it's never going to happen. Single and happy over here.... ha ha. Just kidding, you got to keep the lady happy or with three kids, you'll be living in your parents basement after child care costs come out of your check.... Check out the Toyota power adder's, stickers, stuff like that.
Listen all bullsh*tting aside I wish you luck, one day I hope to meet you at one of the national events with your new Buick, wife and kids.

Chuck

There's some great one-line responses :D but in the end, marriage is all about compromising, so after buying my GN I booked an Anniversary trip to Belize... win win.

I hope the guy that started this thread already has a car or two. Because if this is his first one and he's gotta ask the boss he's f*cked lol

If you've got spare time and money, look at it like a hobby and go for it!
If not, start golfing but quit because you "want to have something to show for your lost time and money"
If ya can't afford time and money to golf, don't bother with the GN.
