Just wanted to know if anyone ever tried using the GTK series turbo on there TSM car. I hear the Precision turbo is the one of choice. Just wondering...

My best answer to this is that het PTE 70HPQ and GTQ is rated at 885HP.
The GTK turbo that is rated at 850HP would not be legal for TSM.

I can't be positive on this(maybe Jack can chime in) but according to Turbonetics website the largest GTK turbo that is 3 bolt is rated between 500-600HP,also if im not mistaken the 850HP version is larger than a 70MM also. A 3 bolt ex housing is a requirement in TSM.

This is the chart from their website,It doesnt say what the wheel sizes are for each one.

Mike, your wheel is a 72mm,according to turbonetics i found teh GTK rated up to 875
You can see below the a PTE 72HPQ is capable of 110 more HP for the same size wheel.
I consider that quite substantial.
PTE's 7068 is good for 850
the 7075 is good for 885
The PTE 72HPQ is rated for 985HP
The PTE 74HPQ is rated for 1060HP
The PTE 76HPQ is rated for 1160HP

I don't know why anybody would waste their money on a Turbonetics turbo to run TSM. The PTE turbos dominate the class by a very large margin. Just my opinion.

Thanks Otto, that was a very thorough answer. I didn't know that 70 mm was the biggest you could go in TSM. That would explain why there is no GTK turbo's in there. I just have always heard the Presicion turbo's were the best for TSM and that they break all the records from various people on the board. I guess Turbonetics doesn't make anything that fits the class like PTE does.
