Just a reminder, its about 14 feet from the ground to the bottom edge of the building with the red roof. I hope it dries out for all the folks going.

For you guys staying at the campground, the diesel race is supposed to occur next week. Some of thos guys tore up the camp grounds last year. We who stayed there last year had to deal with the reprecussions from their shenanigans.

I just called the GSCA to ask if it's still being held. Said Yes, I said, "Have you seen the pictures"? He is going to call his contact at the town and have an update shortly. I can't see how everything will be in working order in a week even if the water did recede. All of the electrics have got to be fried not to mention the damage done to the tower, timing shack, bathrooms etc..I don't think there will be racing at that track for a while...

"Beech Bend Park has postponed its opening day until Friday, May 7th due to severe weather and heavy rain. Beech Bend Park will not be open on Saturday, May 1st. All racing events for Saturday, May 1st have been cancelled also. We regret having to close the park and raceway today, but safety is our number one concern for our guests and employees and we cannot open safely today.
Please join us next week. The park will be open on Friday, May 7th from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Both days will feature the Band and Choral Festival, so join us for some special entertainment! 21 dead so far, and they are looking for more storms.
There's NO WAY the septic system, track surface, electronics, in that place will be ready for 5/7 opening. Even if the sun was out 24/7, and the temps were in the 100* range.....There's weeks of repairs to do AFTER it dries out.

My flight is for sat,not sure i can postpone it a few days or not.
I have to agree,how can all the electronics be up and running by then PROPERLY and will water be coming up through the track all week???
Right now I am only out a plane ticket. I would prefer to leave it at that.
I am not paying my entrance fees for the week to find out the place is junk.
There is no refunds we all know that.
