    Press Switch For Pump Output

I've been thinking the same thing. Wanted to check for pressure after the solenoid valves but havn't found suitable switches. Only thing is you could have a clogged nozzle and still wouldn't know anything's wrong until it's too late. Right now I have LEDs to indicate power to the solenoids but...

    Good reasonably priced solenoid?

I've been using these for about 8 months with no probs so far. http://www.poweraire.com/valve/100psi_info.htm

straight water vs Methanol or a Methanol mixture

I've never heard of injecting hydrogen peroxide but the way you explain it seems like it would be acting similar to nitrous and would cause an extreme lean condition if no additional fuel was added. Or is that where the alcohol comes into play?

    ALKY pump size

Yeah, I use it. No probs at all. I adjusted it to run 80psi. There's no way you could use 1.0 gpm.

    Pressure

I could be way off on this but isn't the nozzle converting a set pressure/ volume into a much greater pressure with less volume? Wouldn't the discharge pressure be considerably higher than the nozzle inlet pressure?

Part # For Hobbs Switch On Dyi

It depends what turn on point you want. Just pick what point you THINK you want and order that switch knowing that you can adjust it quite a bit if nessesary. Most sellers only stock a few numbers so just get whatever seems close (or cheap).

Here is a Rustang guy trying to give back. DIY parts list

Hey Gary, Really enjoyed your site. I even liked all the trans info even though it's of absolutly no use to me. Anyway I have to comment on a few things. Nylon/plastic lines--I'm using them throughout my system. I originally had probs with the lines blowing out of the fitting no matter how tight...

what is the formual to mix exlyene?

What happens if you don't use the MMO? can you get away with an occasional 1/2 tank of just gasoline/xylene?

If Alchy is corrosive to aluminum then why doesn’t it corrode the up pipe, throttle b

I've beem wondering about that too. I've been putting off boring out my throttle body for fear of what the water/alky would do to the bare aluminum.

    hotair nozzle placement

I was under the impression that water/alky injection was best farthest from combustion. I have no scientific basis for that --it's just what CW seemed to be from everything I'd read. So you're saying after the throttle body would be better than somewhere before it?

    3 stage alky

I have been thinking about a third stage also but for a different purpose. Since I have two stages boost activated by Hobbs, I was thinking of adding a throttle switch for maybe 2/3 throttle since I sometimes get ping when towing my trailer even though I'm off boost. I know this has little to do...

    Klotz lube

I've heard of some using machinist cutting oil. It's water soluble and inexpensive.

    shurflo pump

You'd be better off using the Surflo 8000 series pumps. The 2088 series are low pressure light duty. Use the pump John recomended or save $20 and use Northern Hyd #342811-C179. It's $44.99 and more than adequate. It's preset for 60lbs and can be adjusted much higher if you want.

    Nozzle Size & Accumulator ????

Yes that's a McCarr M10. The two jam nuts are "jammed" together so you can screw it in or out of connecting fitting on one end and intake pipe on the other. Since its threaded with tapered pipe threads starting small on either end, I thought the best way to be able to hold it with a wrench would...

Didn't I send you one a while back when we were talking about Hobbs switches?

    Storage for alky

Wouldn't it be better to leave the label on since water/alky obviously doesn't look like Coke? Just don't use a Sprite bottle!:D

    Nozzle Size & Accumulator ????

I'm using #3178k75 and #3178k76 which are 80° full cone pattern. Most everyone I know of uses these but I guess there's no reason you couldn't try the 160°. I machined off the hex and threaded the nose so they screw in from the outside and don't protrude into the airstream. (I don't want to...

    Nozzle Size & Accumulator ????

Don't know if you're talking about my system, but that's the way it's configured. As I've said before, mine's a "full time" system. It's always under pressure wheither the engine's running or not. The accumulator helps to maintain constant pressure so my pump rarely comes on. Since I tow, my...

OK, I think im going DIY system.....

Roaming around the local surplus store last week, I found some nice flat 2 gal containers meant for holding /transporting waste oil. Only $2. You can probably get same at auto supply stores (but not for $2). Might be worth looking at. I never thought of them when I was building my system. BTW...

    Inline filter for Alky system

I may be using the same filter. It's a universal fuel filter with stepped barbs for diff size hose. I just went out to see if there's any rust forming but since I'm running w/washer fluid, the blue dye makes it impossible to tell. At least the metal part is at the inlet side so particles will be...
