So speeding up to get thru the yellow light is the same violation as eating the red light. It's actually common sense since the light is turning red immediately thereafter. Common sense you obviously lack. :

So let me axt ya this. If you're going too fast for a safe stop in traffic, regardless of relative position to the intersection at the time of signal turning yellow, shouldn't you make every effort to clear the intersection as quickly as possible?

The only revenue my city collects is on parking tags. State infractions go to the state. I don't work for the state. :

And that is why every municipality in Ohio has it's own code book. Generally only the OHP cites you on ORC. Everybody else has their own book, basically just a local numbered copy of the ORC. Then locals get to keep the largest share of money in the citations. That's why they still have local courts too. Community $$ching$$. County court's don't contribute to municipalities, so the state gets a larger take from them because there's less slices in the pie.

Wellllllll....If you cannot maintain your speed to make a yellow light, and you accelerate through the yellow light, then chances are you are speeding anyway, and you can have that ticket also.

I've been on the job for 13 years. It's only like 20 yellow/red light tickets a year. Less then 1 a month.

As far as ur second question.... Yes and no. Perception reaction time is 1.6 seconds. Meaning, it takes you 1.6 seconds to take ur foot off the accelerator and onto the brake. It takes the brain 1.6 seconds to compute that when making a determination that you need to stop for whatever reason. So if you are traveling the posted speed limit and have NOT entered the intersection yet you should have plenty of time to apply ur brakes and safely stop. If you have already enterered the intersection and now under the light then NO you should not stop because it is not safe to do so.
