I just went to leave feedback for an item that I had recently bought and an alert popped up saying that sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers so that buyers dont fear a retaliation feedback for leaving a seller a negative feedback. They said they want the buyer to be honest with no ramifications. Im affraid this will cause a lot more dead beat bidders and only harm those trying to sell things because now if there is one little problem with an item Im sure people will just leave a negative feedback without even trying to work things out.

Yeah,Thats the most f#*^ing ignorant thing they have ever done.I also just went from 98.4% to 97.3% on my feedback with 315 feedbacks from one neutral feedback from a buyer that wasn't happy with the shipping time,he waited 8 days to pay for it and I was in Bowling Green when he did pay,I shipped it 2 days after I got back and he still got to leave the neutral saying shipping was very slow and all I can leave him is positive feedback,so a neutral or negative hurts your percentage alot more now also.I guess maybe i'll start selling here instead.I wonder if Turbo Buick could somehow come up with an auction?

I kinda like the new feedback. There were several times that I left no feedback for a bad seller because I didn't want the retalitory negative feedback from them.

Youve got to look at it from a sellers point of view though. It may seem nice for buyers which yes I agree it is nice not to have to worry about a retalitory feedback, but its not fair to the sellers that they cant leave feedback for a bad buyer that doesnt pay. Also like I said before Im affraid that some people are so picky and ignorant that if they recieve an item and there is one little thing that the seller overlooked that they will just go ahead and leave a negative since they know it cant come back on them.

I agree but that means the dispute option is worthless because even if the buyer does not answer an unpaid item dispute he can still leave whatever feedback he wishes but yes it's great for deadbeat bidders or bidders that can't afford what they bid on to back out and not pay with no consequinces. As far as a bad seller I thought thats what a dispute was for!!!

I think it's better overall. Yes I can understand concerns about deadbeat bidders, but I think a large majority of the time, people do pay for what they purchased, and then if shipping takes 3 weeks or the item is garbage, they have to fear leaving negative feedback. I'm sure there will still be a way to go after non-paying bidders.

You missed a critcial point, If the buyer does not pay and you submit a nonpay statement then you can leave negative feedback and the buyer can leave nothing.

As a buyer...As soon as I've made payment than I've fullfilled my part of the transaction 100% & should be left feedback....a positive if my payment was made within the time frame agreed upon...or a negative if my payment is outside of the payment timeline. All the buyer should be graded on is how fast payment was sent.

As a seller...I shouldn't ask the buyer to leave me feedback before I receive it from them. I should leave them feedback as soon as I receive payment. It's up to me to make sure I gave an honest item description & shipped the item out in a timely manner after receiving payment. If I do those things, than a positive feedback should be left for me...if I don't, than I deserve a negative.

I think ebay should have their computer program set up to where the seller must leave feedback for the buyer 1st, but if the buyer has "earned" a negative, than the buyer could lose the right to leave a negative feedback for the seller for that transaction. On the other hand...If the buyer "earns" a positive, than the computer program will allow the buyer to leave the seller feedback.

Sounds simple to me right this minute, but I'm sure it's not....lol

I buy AND sell on Ebay and I think this is probably the WORST thing they EVER did for sellers!! So now, after waiting for 2 weeks for payment(and yes it happens more then you think) you will NOT be able to leave negitive feedback?? Your saying THAT's fair??? BUT the BUYER can now leave you negitive feedback for really NO REASON and that's fair?? This works both ways guys. My feedback rating is now 100% positive. I've worked hard to get that rating as i'm a good seller and been with Ebay since 1998 but I suspect that won't last long now. This will just cause a lot of good sellers to exit Ebay and you'l be left with sellers who really don't give a damn. Can't just look at it from a buyers perspective. And in reading the boards on Ebay, hopefully they're see just how PISS*ED the sellers are and change it back before they lose all the people who made them what they are today. Just my 02

Seller Feedback

I have over 100 positives as a buyer on Ebay, the highest transaction was 34,500. I only negative I received was from a seller for a $6.50 transaction. I bought a model of a Z06 (the 34,500) and the seller sent me a CD. I questioned the deal. He said I didn't read the fine print stating the picture and the item may differ slightly. I couldn't get any help from Visa or Square Deal because the guy actually delivered something. I left feedback suggesting future buyers read the fine print and I got my only negative feedback even though I had paid promptly.

This is how I've always thought it should be:

The seller's window for leaving feedback is only from the time the item is sold and when the buyer leaves his feedback. The seller should NEVER be able to leave feedback AFTER the buyer. If the buyer has left feedback, then the transaction is over - the seller obviously got his money and the buyer is either happy with the product or not. If the seller didn't leave his feedback when payment was recieved (transaction is OVER for him), then too bad.

This would eliminate relaliation feedback and still be fair to the seller.

I got burned on this once. A seller shipped through FedEx when the ad stated USPS and I confirmed that with him before bidding and after winning the auction. It cost me 400% more to ship it due to their fees. I followed up with a few emails that were ignored, so I left him a neutral for the shipping error - not even a negative! For a guy that couldn't respond to my emails, I had a NEGATIVE within minutes. Ebay doesn't follow up on this kind of BS either so I have a poor rating because of this bafoon.

Well I think you missed something,Just tried to leave feedback for a non paying bidder and it stated that a seller can no longer leave negative or neutral feedback, only had two to chose from, positive feedback or will leave feedback later.

YEAH.Without sellers, buyers have nothing to buy.So goodluck to the buyers that agree with the new rules as it will get harder to find good quality parts because they can sell quality on sites like this.

You must first file a non paying claim before you can leave negative.

I'm done with e-bay. Too many dissapointments on my part. I won't elaborate. All I've witnessed lately on there is a lot of dishonesty, fraud and misrepresentation. It seems to be a good place to sell if you enjoy taking advantage of people. I personally do not so I am currently e-bay abstinent.

I did file one 8 days ago with no response!!!!!

So far I have been lucky, not a dead beat bidder. I read that you should be able to do it after a certain amount of time, but maybe I am wrong, it has happened once this year.
