Has anyone tried to replace the cruise control stalk like shown in this video ?
Can you really replace it like he did ?

Looks risky if your trailing wire comes apart about half way up the steering wheel and then what.

Thanks for any info

Steve

I do it all the time ,
solid wire through the hole in the old connector ,pull the turn stalk out and draw out the old wire , hook wire to new connector , tape it so it dosn't get hung up , pull it back down push new stalk in

Thanks for sharing. I've been procrastinating about doing this for a long time.

I've done this twice and at no point did my wire move as easily as in the video thru the column. There was no room in there what's so ever. I had the entire column out on both occasions on my turbo Buick. Made it easier on my back. The wire fought me the entire time pulling it out. This was on tilt steering columns.

It's easier if you pop the steering wheel off .
While you're there you can clean and re-grease AND tighten up those potentially loose torx (or reverse torx bolts) I can't remember which ones where in there.

little more to tightening those screws than just popping off the strg wheel
