The goal, the car, the plan...will it work?

Let me start by saying I love these boards and there's great people on here. I bought a package deal from Jason, here's what I've bought so far. I don't need all of the stuff but the deal worked out for both of us. He didn't have to fool around trying to sell some small things and he was super easy to deal with, made my life easier.

Precision TE45A
LT1 MAF
MAF Translator
Scanmaster
55 lb injectors with TT Chip
Accufab adjustable FPR
Powerlogger
AEM wideband
Modded ECU
TCS 3000 LU Converter
Red Armstrong 340 XP pump
A Pillar gauge pod

Still going to need stuff below, but at least I took a big chunk out if it.
Boost gauge
re-burn chip
Alky
Comp 980's?
Tires
SLIC

Sweet! That makes things a little easier. Good luck with your build.

PM sent to Bison.

Thanks guys, I'm going to take my time and do it right. I plan to start learning the power logger first and get my car dialed in before I start throwing parts at it.

Excellent plan. I went low 12s pretty easy with my stock turbo even, but I took my time getting there. I had plenty of high 13 sec runs, and many slower than that, before I started cranking on it. I wanted it to run stock what the mags stated they ran back in the day. Once that was done, the car responded well to mods as I knew everything else was already in order.

A little update, Jason sent me all the parts and they were at my door in 2 days. Having all this stuff is making it hard to stick to the plan, but I'm going to try.
I may compromise a little, a guy owes me a little money so I may have him install the 9x11 torque converter. Well, here's the parts I have so far:
TE45A with adjustable waste gate
Accufab FPR ( I don't need, will be selling)
Scan master
Power logger installed on ECU
3" MAF with translator
5.7 chip 50# injectors
AEM A/F meter
XP 340 pump- hot wire kit
2 step rev limiter
TCS 3000 stall
I also have a TT 6.0 chip burned for 80 lb injectors I'll have reburned to use with wideband and logger. I'm going to contact Eric and see what's exactly burned on my 50# chip too.

On pump gas, you are looking at 16 lbs boost max. With alkycontrol.com kit(the kit most of us run), you can turn up the boost (and the power) I wouldn't buy a used one though.
On a stock motor, one additional pound of boost = approx. 10 h/p, on a car with a good set of heads, cam, intercooler, turbo that flow, the h/p will be higher. Good luck!

Chuck

Some parts
These new kits are really nice, I had an older kit and they seem to be updated nicely.

Something I haven't seen mentioned is you need either an oil additive (ZDDP) or an oil with proper zinc levels. You won't reach your goal if you wipe out the cam

O...and i wouldn't install everything at once. If you do that and the car is running funny you may have a hell of a time figuring out what the culprit is.

There's one thing I think you missed and unless you plan on going 10's only once you're gonna need a roll bar or you'll get kicked out under 11.50's.

You can always hit the brakes or just run the 1/8th or maybe even get no time runs on the right T&T day or get a gtech pro etc.

The goal of 10's doesn't need met this summer, just before I take a dirt nap. I didn't post all the picks, believe it or not I actually have a Zinc additive.
The current TT chip I have isn't burned for alcohol.

WOW, Christmas Day in March, in fact everyday should be Christmas Day, Good luck with all of the toys, and keep us posted of the results.

I will, it's going to be a while getting things together and the snow is still flying. I'm trying to decide if I should do heads and cam. I read about the GN1 cast iron heads but you can't use a cam with over .500 lift? I found the heads from $1195 to $1495 any idea what the difference is? Springs maybe? Also trying to decide if I want to go roller or flat tappet cam. Decisions decisions

Today I installed the TCS 9x11 3000 stall converter. I was worried it was too much of a stall, but after driving it I can't even tell it's a stall. Seems really tight. Is this because I'm not making any real power yet?

I installed the fuel pump volt booster. Believe it or not, I can tell the difference. The car doesn't fall on its face anymore.

All new trans fluid and the fuel filter was taken care of while I was in there. The fuel that came out of the fuel filter looked brand new, no rust or sludge. I though for sure I would need a new tank. Figures I already have one coming UPS.

Also, I found a Hurst line lock already installed. It works nice too.

I don't have any pictures besides this cool find. The converter swap went really smooth. I can't imagine doing it on the garage floor. Took it to my buddies shop and used the lift.

Installed the scanmaster too.

There's also this blue wire tapped into the ECU blue wire, don't know where it goes.

Another nice little surprise, the thing needs a new exhaust. I ran down to Summit Racing and picked up a Pypes system. I did some research and read the Hooker system was quieter. I told my wife I was going for the quieter exhaust and she demanded I go with the noisier set up. Noisier it is, yes dear.
