Im looking to get new front rotors for my car. Its a 78 and it seems its a one year part.
They are 10.5'' like every other G-body but Im wondering what is the technical differences of the rotor of 78 vs 79+.. Are they from the 77- generation? Are they thinner, thicker or is it just because they have shifted to metric in 79?
(every guys who have 78 G know they are part-metric, part-conventional) lol

the size of the bearings and races is different on '78 model G-bodys. the spindle is unique too, so you can't use 79-87 rotors or bearings.

The biggest diff is in the lugs. The 78 is a one off but it has standard, not metric threads on some of the early ones. If you can find a set of later ones or convert to the last gen Blazer spindles you'll be better off. You just need to change the studs on the rear and make sure you have 15" wheels on the car. Much better braking to.

There's a reason the 78 and up G/A bodies are called metric chasis. The change over was legeslated in 75-76 so you have a lot of mixing on all the cars since then. A new design required the parts to be metric but it didn't always work.
