    Turn Signal Fluid

well I started to read the thread and damn if I didn't quickly realized there is just way too much tecknical stuff for me to figgr out all at once so I went ahead an printed out all 11 pages worth. (11 pages. wow!!) Yeah yeah, I know, I look smart but I really ain't so smart, so's I put all 10...

    New engine rebuild average cost?

the internal integrity of your engine can have surprisingly litte bearing upon an engine's performance, especially regards a turbo engine where you have large excesses of air pumping capability. I'm not talking about engine longevity here, just speaking strictly to the performance aspects...

    Detonation

This sounds like a lobe going flat. Except, you've got a roller cam, and, they're tough! So, I'll go with the module, as JDSfastGN mentioned. The modules can cause all kinds of weirdness. Swap it out with a known good one. Let us know!

    Thrasher 108 with alchy

About 5 or so years ago both Dman and I ran all the flavors of Thrasher including the "108" at about 25 lbs (93 octane) w/no real problems to mention. That was totally stock, you know, stock IC / turbo / injectors / heads, etc. I do remember some knock in OD. I think it started to spike...

    Denatured vs isopropyl

Salvage, the 10 second test Dman and I decided on is merely a product of convenience. In the testing I did for Flojet I found the pumps achieve full pressure in less than a second. So didn't feel much to be gained in longer testing. Try to keep the pump voltage steady at nominal 13.5. btw, I...

    Denatured vs isopropyl

Flow data tells part of the story. It should indicate if the supply is enough for what you're trying to do. Next consideration is the nozzle design. Salvage, if you do this via bench test remember to apply ~13.5 v. You'll need at least a 12 amp supply, maybe more to start the pump. If you use a...

    Denatured vs isopropyl

Look Quick, my combo is pretty much the usual 11 sec stuff, with the exception of the TE-66. It's overkill on the stock heads and only 'adds' a bunch of turbo lag. Otherwise, nothing special, just a ton of boost. The engine is all stock, never opened. 36pph "blue top" injectors, 3 inch dp, no...

    Denatured vs isopropyl

Hey, Steve, 5 or 6 years ago I held a class and made available a document in Word format. Seems over the years I've explained myself to death! To post it all would make for some boring reading for most. I supposed I am guilty of being too concise. I don't know if anyone bothers to search the...

    Denatured vs isopropyl

Turbo Tim has a good point about the nozzles. Without a long, boring story I’ll just say the more you push the limits of either boost or fuel, the more you’ll appreciate good atomization. 'Nuff said. OneLethal87GN, it takes only a small percentage of water to increase knock resistance. 50%...

    Denatured vs isopropyl

The answer to your question, "What is the difference ....." is that the various alcohols each have very specific chemical characteristics. -Because molecular chemistry is, after all, the determining factor between, say, diesel fuel and gasolene (etc.), this is what you pay attention to- For...

    diy alchohol kit......no problems

poor red, did i hurt your feelings? You didn't get tucked into bed last night? Don't cry. Here's an idea: spend more time actually comprehending what has been posted. Maybe you'll get more out of it. Though I doubt that'll work in your case because all you want to do is listen to yourself yak...

    diy alchohol kit......no problems

this guy Red Regal T might actually have something worthy to add to these discussions. It's too bad that his childish, immature and silly behavior only uses up bandwidth, distracts the thread and adds negative content. We've heard Reds "low cost, 60,000 mile" mantra over and over and over...

    Methanol Vs Ethanol test results

Razor... I don't follow your logic, so bear with me.... TurboSy needs more fuel. He can't turn down base fp because he said his duty cycle is 100% with the base at 42. If he goes down in fp where does the fuel come from? Regards your "pushing it" remark: If nobody pushed the limit how would...

    Methanol Vs Ethanol test results

Mark, I also have the 340 pump. I can vouch it will support 36 pounders at 52 lbs fuel pressure, boost at 30 lbs. Of course, it has to flow more fuel to feed your 50's. But my point is the pump is pretty stout and should handle 46 lbs.

    Methanol Vs Ethanol test results

Mark, re: your maxed injectors, here are a couple things to try. You didn’t mention fuel pressure. Do you have enough fuel pump to go up 3-4 lbs.? This would add a few % fuel, which should allow you to relax the duty cycle about 5%. You list four 1.0 nozzles, for a total aperture of 4 mm...

I like your boost control idea. Great idea and Cool! Would you happen to have egt readings we could correlate with the wide-band?

    Methanol Vs Ethanol test results

Notice the leaner a/f. Meth has less btu's. That's probably why you picked up hp. These engines like lean. In the real world it is difficult to pick which one is optimal because it really depends upon your particular method of utilization.

    hotair nozzle placement

I have a '87 TR, and my comments relate to that. I know, in the past, there have been people who were spraying into the turbo. Heck, even GM did it once! I still stay you're asking for problems. Good luck!
