    Weird 2001 Regal GS problem

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while, but need a little help. . . My mother in law has a 2001 Regal GS. Nice car, with all the options. It's been very reliable up until recently, when it's developed a weird power problem. The car will randomly not have ANY battery power. It will start and run...

Got a bunch of stuff sent to me by my dad from and N/A project he was working on several years ago. $50 + shipping takes it all, or make me an offer on individual parts. Hey 204/214 cam owners, did you have to machine your stock heads?

I'm trying to figure out if I should be getting the heads machined for this cam. I've been running it for a while with no problems, but since the engine is out, I was going to have a valve job done. 0.448 int./0.472 exh. lift

What does this groove in my new lifters do?

Got the Edelbrock 5487 kit,and the lifters have a small groove around the bottom of the lifter. I've never seen this before. . .What does it do? Picture's a little fuzzy, but you get the idea. . . The Edelbrock part number for the lifter is 9749.

What is the biggest valve lift a factory head can handle?

Came across a thread that states the stock head can only handle .420 lift. The 204/214 cam is rated at .442 intake and .472 exhaust. . . I always thought if you stayed under .500, you were OK? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=EDL-5487&autoview=sku

What causes just the #1 rod bearing to be smashed?

The car ran great, except oil pressure was about 12psi hot. Made about 8 runs at the track, with no knock at 16psi on pump gas. Engine had 90k miles on it, but don't know if it was beat on before I got it. We should have pulled the engine as soon as we bought it three years ago, but we really...

What causes just the #1 rod bearing to be smashed?

I notice a lot of GN folks nod knowingly when I tell them the reason I rebuilt my engine was because #1 rod bearing was hammered flat. What causes this? Detonation? Why just the #1 bearing and not the rest?

    1011-144 Heavy Duty Wastegate actuator

Yes. This is the stock replacement wastegate actuator that works on the stock style turbo. It starts at 18lbs of boost and can be adjusted upwards from there. It's basically the same as a stocker, with a stronger spring and an adjustable rod.

    Power steering pump BS

I just rebuilt mine. The kit has all the "O" rings you need. My pump works like new and no leaks! I hit it with a can of semi-gloss engine paint, and it looks like new.
