I have about 500 miles on the new rebuild and so far so good. Made it out to a few shows this weekend and it seems everyone likes the car. I had several people ask me if it's been in a bubble since 1986  First show was over 200 cars with top 50 awards, won there and the second show was over 100 cars with top 30 awards, won there. More trophy's to toss in the trash. I'll always be more excited just driving and enjoying the car rather then winning a $4 dollar trophy but it's nice to feel it's loved out there.

Actually... I just picked up a new Canon 12.1 mega pixel camera and I was just dieing to use it! :D

So what do you guys think?

Very nice looking 86 (the best year). I gotta ask.... did you talk to the Monte SS owner next to you? Thats a pretty rare color combo on that car. Oh, and if somebody said "nice Monte" you could tell them, no, look to your right! HAHA

WOW. Even if you had kept in a bubble it wouldnt be that nice. That is a straight car. High 5 to whoever blocked sanded that.

Wooooow  Nice !!!! Remind me not to show up to any show with my car that you bring that masterpiece to....lol!!!

The Monte SS owner is a friend of mine. We took it from Monte Car Slow to Monte Car FAST! Have a look...

Funny part is now what happens is people walk up and say, oh look.. 2 Grand Nationals. Then they see the SS on the door of the Monte and get really confused. The Monte guys with the mullets really want to cry when they see it. :D

That was the reason I bought it the paint was so nice. I tracked back some owners and I still can't find the guy who painted it. I took it to my body guy and he can't find a drip of mud anywhere. He thinks it was a really straight car when they restored it. The car was taken apart when they painted it. The jams and inside the fenders shine as nice as the sides.

lol thanks. Hopefully you guys can see it in Bowling Green or Ohio sometime soon!

Ah hah. I see. Do me a favor and tell your friend I hate him............. thats it nothing more, I hate him. Nice cars guys. Ill do a Monte SS/turbo 6 someday too...............

Beautiful GN, and I bet that Monte SS with a 3.8 really suprises some people at the stoplights!

lol The look on Monte and IROC owners faces when the turbo six Monte walks away from them is priceless! For some reason with the exhaust that is on the car, (unknown) the sound almost didn't change from how it sounded when it was a Monte Car slow. So from the sound of it out the back you would almost think it's a Monte. When you get around front it has that turbo Buick engine sound.

When we would go to car shows with him and when we left the show, he would always be in the back of the pack trying to play catch up when it was a Monte Car Slow. So I got him a turbo six drive line and now he can stay in the pack of turbo Buicks. It still has the peg leg Monte rear in it but he has a complete rebuilt GN posi sitting on jack stands waiting to go in the summer sometime. That way he won't burn up the one tire all the time :)

I think if I had that engine bay, I'd stand out in my garage staring at it every evening. There is something to be said for super sano stock appearing engine bays! Nice job.

Thanks guys for all the compliments! Makes me feel good when the Buick guys give me the thumbs up. I've seen so many low mile stockers and the engine bays look horrible. I had to do something to represent the GN's out there at the shows making it look like new again. Lots of blood sweat and tears in that engine bay and on that car in just a few months. A little more to go here and there. I'm so addicted to powder coating and making these cars look good I've started pulling stuff off under the car and getting it coated! Someone help! lol :D

Jim: I got a little tiny Canon PowerShot SD780 IS little bugger takes some sick pictures. I just got the 8 gig card for it so I can take over 2500 pictures :D
It also shoots HD video (1280 x 720 pixels) has it's own mini HDMI connector and it's smaller then my iphone! So far I'm very impressed. I wanted something smaller that takes good pictures. I love my EOS 400D Rebel but it's so huge to haul around. Look up the specs on the SD780 IS. It's one sick little camera!

Here are a few more engine bay shots...

Super clean car !!!! I love how reflective your paint is. I do have one question, could you give your new camera to a pretty lady to take a few pics of herself in your paint.....just to see how your paint reflects human images.
