1/8th

Down here in TN we have a "BOUNTY RACE" that has gained alot of popularity and quite the turn out! Every mounth the place is packed with spectators and racers. Shane and Clint if you want to come down and whitness one of these Bounty Races I would be more than happy to take you guy's to one.. This race has a $1,500 Bounty on the winners head, Runner up is $500 and there is some VERY fast cars there!!! like some 4.80's @ 159  and even some quicker times.. bountyrace.com - Home

So 1/8th mile racing can be great and alot of fun for both the spectator and the racer..

Shane & Clint i'll be glad to help in any way I can. Just let me know.. Also intrested in a vendor spot! ;)

I have LOTS of ideas that will put into place once we square everything up. vending wont be a problem either. I will let you know. Thanks Scot.

More 1/8 mile tracks, what is ET/MPH for various classes

Great event idea...

which leads me to wonder, which ran at BG during crappy rain track conditions

For each class, since 2003, I have met or covered names, classes, track times/mph, thus switching to 1/8 mile...

QUESTION
For the 8,9,10,11,12,13,14 second quarter mile times...
What would be their respective times in 1/8 mile with MPH??

This year at the GS Nationals, were a lot of the racers sandbagging it, so people didnt know what the cars were running... in the end with all the rain, it didnt matter, no final races!

TSM, TSO, HU... which leads me if I have 12 second car, what is my goal in 1/8 mile... also, I prefer TSM, TSO cars, I know more names and met people who race in either TSM/TSO/TAI/TSL, what would be the ET/MPH for shorter track??? not the best et/mph, but boundaries of where they should be...

TIA
Time to sell the hardtop so I can attend more Buick events... especially it seems each year it rains or snows... if you look at GS Nationals, one day is for setup, race 2 days, drive home another day, back to life the next, 4 Buick Daze is great... when most people and racers only have one day to race on Saturday or Sunday June thru Oct... mixed with every make and model....

The event is being planned and hopefully some more documentation today...

Look like we are going to have to really shake things up:eek:

I got some big announcements coming up soon:cool:

I would tell you that TSM is 6.30 to very high 5.90 range in the 1/8th. My guess is TSO is mid to mid/low 5 seconds. I know that Big Gun type cars are 4.90 - 4.60ish

Meaning based on setup a low 10 second car is 6.50-640 in the 18th
Mid 11 second cars are mid/low 7ish.

My car ran 11.15 at 126 at Rockingham which was 7.10 at 99 in the 1/8th

I didnt see it on the website or here...But Is track side camping allowed?

yes sir. You do not have to leave. Onsite camping is available however there is no place to plug in an RV. You would have to use a generator

Louie it would be great if you and the family can come! You remind me to bring up something:smile: We would love for you to bring that awesome ride of yours!!!

All Buick bodied, or Buick powered vehicles are welcome!!! Heck put a Buick steering wheel on it and bring it:biggrin:

we plan on running an Open Field Quick 8.
RULE #1 = If it buick powered OR buick bodied it can be entered in the race.
RULE #2 = refer to RULE #1
end of story!

IMHO: This is not going to work, there has to be 2 different classes.

The is no way a Buick V6/V8 is going to compete against a race oriented Buick bodied car with a turbo'd SBC/BBC.

Class 1 : Buick powered
Class 2 : Buick bodied

It would be nice if there could be a left, right coast and middle America series for these old hogs.

NC, then to Dallas, then to Arnolds house. I call Dallas middle America, because I am here....in the middle of it.

I am not opposed to the 1/8 mile although I do prefer the 1/4. but reading through this has kind of enlightened me.
