TurboBuick Frame

IMG_2262.JPG
Speaking of that "HS" code… I bought my car brand new and it did not have the "HS" tags on the frame. One thing I noticed though is that I only saw them on t-top cars…but I could be wrong. Maybe someone like Dennis Kirban would know?

Claude.
My 87 hard top has HS

If Boostjunkie says it so about the frames....take it as law. Very few have the knowledge he has. Pete Hoffman,Dennis, Bo McDonald, and a few others are your sources for accurate info....and of course Turbo Jesus...Richard Clark

I had no idea either. Seems like it have have been easier to make all the frames beefier and just have one part number.

I replaced my frame with a 84 regal frame and the only thing I had to do at the thAt Time was weld another bracket for the trans cross member . Other then that everything else bolted up with no issues . And if you are swapping frames anyway I hope you would be boxing the c rail and adding more support so it really wouldn’t matter what g body frame you got. IMO here are some pics of my frame

What do you guys think about this one for a donor frame? Looks like pre-86/87, but even 84 came with OD transmissions, no?

If it's straight, I'd use it. Doesn't matter if it's a 'good one' or not. A bare frame should have extra reinforcements welded in on general principle. After that, the base material won't be in issue now matter what.

I agree if it's a no hit frame I would use it I would cut your rear Grand National specific support out and weld it into the new frame and yes it should have the overdrive crossmember bracket and now is the time to add some extra bracing to the frame

Yup, that’s the reason for getting it. Box it, extra support and probably a notch, since I can.

Keep us updated on your progress..Here is one I did
