What would cause a boost spike on a dead stock setup? Shoots up to 17 or 18 psi in first, then settles to 14 psi, then spikes on each shift to 16 or 17 psi.

I guess I should bring some tools to Lethbridge then?
What are you running for boost control these days? Need me to bring my grainger valve along? I never had 1psi of boost creep or spike ever with it, as long as the wastegate hole was big enough.

Actually working on a buddy's car with a stock setup.

Bring the Grainger, though, maybe would be better than the RJC. I get no spikes, just lag, but I think it's mainly due to exhaust leaks. Hopefully shouldn't need any tools . . . maybe a hammer just in case

mine did the same thing and i changed the turbo and went with a rjc boost controller and now it's rock solid.

If you have'nt already, check the small lines that lead to the waste gate actuator and the boost controll solenoid, for kinks/restrictions.
