    Notes on Plug wires....

According to most factory spec your wires are marginal...... .... for a motor with stock specs. If you're making any more than OE cylinder pressure, you need better wires.

**URGENT, PLEASE READ** electrical system death

I used to do a lot of used car work for a local Chevy dealer I was faster and more efficient (read "cost them less") than their own technicians. They had me remove the alarm system from every car they sent me that had one, and the cost to them was $90~$120. It would not surprise me if they...

**URGENT, PLEASE READ** electrical system death

Sounds like you may have found it. An aftermarket security system puts a whole new spin on things, especially if it wasn't installed properly. I hope that takes care of the problem.

    9" Ford or 12 bolt

I concur with GnTooFast4u The 12 bolt is lighter, but the 9" is marginally stronger. If it were me, I'd go 12 bolt.

10 bolt vs 12 bolt vs 9" vs Dana 60

The 12 bolt would be the best all around choice IMHO, that is,

    Ring Gear Part #

IMO, I would not use a ring gear spacer.... ....especially if you are making any real power. Either buy the correct ring gear for your carrier (probably available aftermarket), or buy the correct carrier for your ring gear. That ring gear spacer will come back to bite ya in da butt when you...

Rear brake line !@#%ing pain in the...

The line size should be 3/16" Be sure they don't give you compression fittings to connect the lines together. If I might make a suggestion here, you may want to take it to a shop. A good shop will have the equipment and personnel do do this job right, and in much less time than you ever could...

    Rolling fender lip

I have used the baseball bat trick a few times.... ...actually a piece of 2" galvanized pipe works well too.

Do I need to adjust brake pedal switches

It's not critical 1/16"to 1/8" is about right. If you check it with a test light, you can see when the contacts close.

**URGENT, PLEASE READ** electrical system death

Battery cable and/or connections Given your symptoms, that is the only possible thing that could cause your problem, unless you have a battery with a broken connection inside. I have run across that before, but it's very rare, and about the only way to diagnose it is with an old style carbon...

    Optimas suck

Best bet for the the dead battery syndrome in cars that don't get used regularly... ...is a battery switch. It's a good theft deterrent too. Parasitic loss from keep-alive memory, radio memory, clocks, and any other type drains will drain a battery over time.

    Optimas suck

My V-8 S10 burnt down around a redtop It was mounted down under the bed. Appearance wise, it had been pretty hot, and the plastic carry handle was melted. A month later, when I started taking the truck apart (salvaging the motor, trans and rear axle), the battery cable started sparking and...

    bad battery?

I said..... ....anything beyond a few milliamps ( without driving it ) will kill a battery in the long run. I also said... My point was, if the car sits idle for more than 30 to 45 days at a time you may want to disconnect the battery, pull the fuses for radio memory and ECM keep alive...

I hate these cars, especially their radiators

Since I don't own a GN/TR..... ...and it's been months since I've seen Victor's GN, pretend I'm from Mars, and describe to me what you are looking for. The fitting going into the radiator on 99% of all GM cars is 5/16" inverted flare, the rest are 3/8" inverted flare (HD applications, like...

I hate these cars, especially their radiators

As a general rule.... ....most parts countermen these days know Jacksh*t about brass fittings ( or bolts either for that matter). When you go in, ask right off the bat if anyone in the store knows anything about brass fittings. If there is someone in charge of ordering them to begin with, that...
