It was 1987 for me, and I had an 87 GT Rustang,

Until I got whipped by a black cutlass, but thats another story .

IIRC it was around .89-.99 for premium.

Phoenix, AZ 1978 - $.72 per.

In '76 when I got my Licence it was $.62

With the growing trend.. I am guessing about $5.00 per gallon by the time I graduate..

I remember it got down to .66/gal for a short time around 1985-86. It was awesome since my 1966 Ford pickup got 8 MPH. Around 1987 when I graduated it was always around a buck.

By the looks of my spelling in the thread title, it doesnt appear I did graduate high school let alone college :confused:

In '72 I visited my friend in Florida . He let me drive his '65 289 mustang (running 12.5:1 on the street) while he was at work. The gas gauge didn't work so I would stop and TRY to put in $5 worth and it was always too much !! 1oo+ octane for $.34/gal. regular was $.24 !!!

I remember it being around 1.20 cents when I
graduated 1982 but went down to .89 by Christmas time

It was over $1 and I had to put up with it until 83 and it dropped some. Got to hear all about how the gas was cheap from my dad who used to by "cracked gas" (unleaded in the 30's) for 4 cents a gallon and ethel (leaded) was 8 cents.

".23/25 unless gas stations had a "gas war" then it would be 17/19 !! :p," QUOTE Grumpy

Second!!!!!

Love these 'back in the day' threads. $2's worth of regular, smokes for a quarter, some ice and a $3 case of quarts (plus deposit). Go pick up 'No Good' Swantek and head down County G. Five bucks for a day checking out halter tops at the quarry!

.73 a gallon fill up take girlfriend out for a streak and a show for less than 20 bucks.those were the good ole days.

around .36 a gallon..................one dollar for pack of smokes, gas for nightly crusin....................

.99 to 1.1x for the cheap stuff in 2000. Crazy how gas stayed the same, around $1 for so long, then in afew years, quadrupled. Remember how happy we were when it came down to $2.6 afew years ago.
