Graduated in 1960, driving a 1940 Ford standard coupe, powered by a 55 Dodge Red Ram hemi (baby hemi). Gas was 23-25 cents a gallon. My summer jobs paid 1.00 per hr at best.
Class of '79, as I recall, a gallon of gasoline and a pack of smokes(mules) cost the same at .65-.70 cents.
Anyone else remember the Sunoco "Dial", we was living back then, just didn't know it.
1964, Sunoco 260 was $.28.9 a gal. for my '61 409 Impala SS....Pop's '61 6 cylinder Biscayne was $18.9 a gal for cheap Sunoco, but real cheap stuff was $16.9.
