What is this some kind of "Scare Tactic" reasoning, LS1tech and Yellowbullet are on the "old" vBulletin versions, and they are not worried.
I am on TurboForum.com, and Really like the "feel" of that board. Hope it doesn't change soon.
What surprised me the most was the disrespect by the "Admin" toward us the "Customers". Sure we don't pay anything(Thank You for the reminder) to use the board, but we are what make this board. Without all of us this would be the same as one of the smaller TurboBuick boards. I.E. t6p.com
Also,was the change for better aggregation of info for Google AdSense, or for improving the Buick Community. Really.
I wonder how much the Vendors(advertisers besides Google) like the change.
You can't be surprised by the resistance, we are group of guys that patrontize a 25+ year old car. That some still tune off of a Narrow Band O2 sensor.

I'm doing good my old friend, it's been awhile! I hope your doing good brother!!! The site looks so different, it's like going to work and coming home to a freshly painted house... and it's not the color you would have used, it's gonna take some getting used to. But overall I think it looks pretty good. BRIGHTER!
I think what Jay was getting at was simple. We have said from the BEGINNING that it was a work in progress. No where did we say it was going to be working 100% off the bat... After several nights of not sleeping doing upgrades to the board only to have the same people complain about the same thing over and over would piss me off too...
We avoided any down time at all, didn't loose any info. Would anyone have rather us have shut the forum down for a week or so?

Shane, I'll quickly say you come across as a very diplomatic, friendly person, even when you're having to be firm about something.
I don't think the issue is really with what Jay was getting at, but more how we was getting there. Sure, he might have been tired and seeing people complain after it being stated that this is a work in progress might piss someone off. However, I don't REALLY think that was the main catalyst behind his tone considering this isn't the first time I've seen the guy be a d!ck and have a generally piss poor attitude toward people.
Also, the "old car" analogy is a little out of place since this board is solely directed toward owners of cars that, at the youngest, are 25 years old now. LOL!

The old version of the board was broke and no way to fix it... Maybe I should change it to your old computer LOL!

My problem is pretty simple. It doesnt cost people anything to use this board. Even when people have offered donations, Shane has turned them down. So he comes out of pocket to upgrade the board, we spend the time and effort doing it and for what? So a bunch of unappreciative people can come on here and bitch and complain about stuff they dont like. If that makes me come off as a dick then so be it. It sucks spending hours over here optimizing, making backups, patching the forums, etc only for people to bitch and moan about stuff that doesnt work, isnt how people like it or in this case, how much better the old forum was. I guess people forgot about how slow the old board was and how the board was basically hacked for 3 or 4 months while we worked on the upgrade.
If people dont want to use this board, they can head over to Turbobuicks and post there. Im sure Vertical Scope would love to have more than 10 people posting over there to offset the stupid investment they made in that forum.

Im giving people options. If they dont like it here, there are other places to go. Cant please everyone. Thats why there are different forums for the same subject. And do you know how much VS payed for that site? I do because I was involved in the negotiations to the point I tried to talk them out of pissing their money away so again, just because YOU dont know all the facts doesnt mean others dont.

This update is a huge deal and forum members should appreciate it. The last time this board was updated it was a mess and everything was lost. It was a mess!
Enjoy the new board and all its features. Once you learn how to use them you might be surprised

Ive been involved with these cars going on 25 years. I think anyone that knows me knows that tact is not in my bag of tricks and probably never will be. Its one of the reasons I handle the tech side of things and Shane is the more user facing presence.
Okay, chill time... Jay doesn't try to win any popularity contests. Anyone that personally knows him knows he says how he feels... He keeps this place running on the tech side which I have about as much business trying as I do rebuilding an engine He is basically on call 24hrs a day 365 days a year for this place... Without his help this board wouldn't be where it is today good bad or ugly...
