I personally think slamming her on her face was a little much. Having said that they were acting like drunken idiots, but I just don't think the cop had to use that much force considering she is not even half his size.

now it looks like a minor fight nothing big, that cop was way outta line as far a the amount of force he used. if she had half a brain she'd have his ass fired and sue the city. now there is no way of telling what happened before the vid starts but he hit her 5 times with that asp baton, pepper sprayed her, then slams her to the ground. way way over the line, just my 02, i've had several run ins with the police and have been in jail over minor crap like tickets. but she didn't hit him it was more like she was just trying to tell him something. maybe she was drunk or whatever but still if that cop is still a cop i'd be amazed. there are a few officers of the law on this forum and wonder if they'd chime in on what they think. I will say i've don't put my hands even remotely close to them like i'm gonna push them and am usually nice to them even if i have to go to jail. there is no reason to add charges to something as minor as an unpaid traffic ticket or some other bulls1t.

oh and about 3 months ago there was an incident here in the DFW area where a guy was running from the cops but eventually pulled over. He was black ( race doesn't have anything to do with this i don't think ) but while he was laying on the ground handcuffed a dallas cop hit him several times with his fist and kicked him. another officer on the scene had his dash cam rolling and before the beating stopped the cop that's cam was on the incident went to his patrol car and while he was whistling he nudged his cam so it didn't show the guy laying on the ground. the next day one of the other cops reported the incident and the cop who moved his dash cam was suspended for several days. the cop who did the beating was fired.

regardless i just don't get the reason of running from the police, or trying to fight them. it's just not worth it, i've got 2 sons and a step son and i've instilled this to them. if your wrong or guilty of something then it's your own fault. but something like this is uncalled for.

They seem to be pretty out of line to me, especially with that first guy who appeared to be doing nothing wrong and ended up on the wrong side of the night stick. I'm sure the cops will ring in though and tell me how wrong I am

Necessary force...in this case NOT justified. This cop is pure evil. They guy in the video got it right when he said "you got problems man." This cop is an animal and he needs to deal with his anger problem before he goes back patrolling the streets.

I thought I saw the big guy kicking or hitting the truck TWICE and leaving big dents while putting a serious cussing on someone in the vehicle. The second time was right before the cop popped him one... The cop had to see what he did...

The girl was obviously drunk or on drugs, I THOUGHT I saw her assaulting someone in the car? I imagine he told her to freeze and she tried to wonder off but the pepper spray had her a little disoriented....

Judging by the crowd I imagine the situation was tense to start off with. Drunks and crowds usually = problems...

X's 2 when your messing with crowds, drunks, or people on drugs you never know what to expect. I dont think any of us would sit there and say ok people lets all calm down and talk about this. Cause obviously its not going to work in a group like this.

IMO, it takes just a big a punk to attack a person's property as a person

My guess is that if he was NOT attacking someone's property he wouldn't have gotten popped in the LEG...

I'm not sure what you guys saw, but I saw a gang of at least 3 people attacking someone in the Explorer and their vehicle. There were 2 girls beating someone in the passenger side of the truck. If I were an officer and came upon this stiuation, I probably would have taken control of the gang in pretty much the same way. When out numbered, you've got to take additional steps to control the bad guys/girls.

Bottom line is, you don't get knots on your head if you don't do stupid things !!! Hell, they got off easy, had they attacked me in my car, all of them would have ended up "leaking".

Should have listened to mom when he was a kid and kept his hands to himself vandalizing someones property is just aggresive as beating someone. He got what he deserved. Did he die? NO. Is he crippled? NO. Did he learn something he should have known? Sure as hell hope so. Maybe he should have listened to dad. If your gonna be dumb you better be tough.

The guy walks up to the guy hits him 2 times then the guy is on the floor and hits him 4 times all in the back.
I am willing to bet that a false charge of resisting arrest was filed against the guy on the floor.

Force didn't look excessive to me. What do you expect the officer to do in a situation like that? Say please and thank you? That lady looked like she motioned towards him in an aggressive manner. Of course she was gonna get it! She is lucky that's all she got. Its not like the officer kept hitting them once they were under control. I have seen that happen a few times and that is what is uncalled for. This guy seems like he was just doing his job. Being a cop isn't always pretty. Hats off to those that do it.

How in the world do you get there from this video?

2 thugs are attacking people and property ON VIDEO and you blame it on the cops and the rich


So, lets turn this around. If that was YOUR BUICK getting hammered and you or your wife/girlfriend getting ASSUALTED by two thugs in a crowd would you want the cops to stop it or I guess you would want them to come blow the whistle and ask politely for the fray to stop?

To give the cops benefit of the doubt, I'm assuming the cops were already on their way, and then the first thing they really got to see was the guy flipping out and beating on the car, then moving toward the occupants WHILE not giving a rat's ass what the cops were telling him what to do.

Un-cooperative + acting belligerent = beat with a night stick.

After he subues that guy, the woman comes running over and looks like she GRABS THE COP. He's trying to keep a guy under control and someone comes over and grabs him.

Trying to subdue a drunk + someone grabbing you and surprising you = beat with a night stick.

She then steps away, hides her hands from him, and approaches again. Apparently she has a learning disability.

Cop already pissed at you + hiding your hands + approaching again = Mace.

Then she wanders off, to her credit, she probably can't see crap.

The drop to the ground, while hilarious, is the only borderline thing I see going on in this video. I'm not a LEO, and I've never had to subdue drunks, so that one is in the gray area for me. Though she's screwed up twice already; I wouldn't be pressing my luck if I was her. That one is leaning toward the she-had-it-coming category.

i respect most police for the job they do, but the bad apples that are out there scare the **** out of me.

when i was younger, a friend of mine claimed the georgia state patrol, beat the living **** out of him about 3am on the side of the interstate. threw his keys in the grass and left him there. for trying to out run them, on speeding.
