According to Jesus, Brett. Since you seem to be so interested in this might I suggest that you go read the four Gospels, this will quench most of your curiosity. As for the priests that claim to live for Jesus, but molest children. You will find the answer to this in the bible also. Don't worry too much about which version you read, as long as its in english you will be fine

I really think you need to start your own thread in the political section & stop running this one so far off course.

I can only think that God would invite those into his kingdom from the contributions they have made to man and woman while alive on this earth and not because they spend Sunday in church reading and preaching the bible.

There are a billion or so that believe in something totally different then you and do not believe in Jesus. Does that mean they are going to hell cause they believe in something different then you? I doubt it.

I might be able to buy into the Jesus thing if everyone prayed to the same God. The fact is they dont and havent for thousands of years. In fact, many have to prayed to a different God long before Jesus was even created.

As far as the bible itself goes. I do plan to read it some day. I mean if I dont I may go straight to hell. Dont want that to happen.

If they've seriously repented of their sins and asked for forgiveness, yes they do. For sin is what keeps you out of heaven.

And I do agree there's too many denominations with too many hypocrites trying to shove their beliefs down your throat while the offering plate is emptied into the preacher's pocket to pay his Cadillac, mink coat and nice house (insert Jim and Tammy Bakker here), thus why I'm not a big church goer but I still do believe and pray.

Those billion people you speak of do believe in Jesus. They think he was a prophet, and a very spiritual, nice man, which goes against everything he said. So those billion people are saying he was a liar, yet a prophet. You really need to learn more before you just spout out your "facts" Brett.

Saying you don't believe in Jesus is like saying you don't believe in king henry VIII, or George Washington.

And you don't get to heaven by going to church. Just read those four chapters (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John).

Now this is just from me, so look.....Jesus was sent to earth by God in a human form, because God saw how corrupt the world was....so Jesus was sent to save us from evil.....Jesus KNEW he was going to suffer all pains us humans do, and KNEW he was going to be persecuted...so he came down, performed incredible miricles, healings, teachings, etc. to try and help man end his evil ways......Jesus KNEW he was going to be nailed to the cross, and buddy, that hurt, the suffering he took on the way to the cross, all of this to show that whoever believes in HIM shall have everlasting life. One of the two crimminals who were also nailed to crosses on either side of him turned to Jesus and asked him to please forgive him, and that he believes Jesus really is the Son of God...Jesus did...and when Jesus asscended to Heaven, the crimminal also went with him.....

Jesus appeard to his disciples AFTER death for a while, just to show that there IS life AFTER death and to spread the word...

Think of it this way...what other event are we celibrating that happend 2011 years ago? The Corvette? No. The Gibson guitar? No. The Grand National? No.

This was the most incredible, unbelieveabe events that ever happend on this earth....the birth of a baby from a VIRGIN, then the persecution of Jesus by Pontus Pilate. Then the return from the dead.

Summing it up....God appeared in human form to suffer the sins of man and to ask them to accept HIM as thier savior, and was willing to die in the most painful way for man, come back to life. It all boils down to faith and belief.

What's waiting for those who accepted the Lord as their savior in heaven is indescribable to anyone here on earth....as a passage in the Bible said man has not seen nor heard of the rewards that awaits him in heaven for those who believes in Him.

So, stop beating yourself up about what OTHERS believe. You are doing so good as a policeman, Brett, already, putting yourself on the line everyday for the good of OTHERS.....no one MADE you become a cop....this act alone, earns you a door in the kingdom of heaven, BUT, yes, a big BUT......you've got to believe that Jesus came down to earth and died for us....to accept Christ in your heart, ask for forgiveness, believe in Him NO MATTER WHAT, and you'll get the most wonderful afterlife forever and ever. No tears, no pain, no sorrow, no sickness, no blown TA-49s, all that, gone. Just the glory of heaven with God. It's so simple....you've got to BELIEVE and ACCEPT CHRIST in your HEART, no matter what. Continue to do good as a cop, be a good cop, do what's right in your heart, and buddy, you'll probably beat ME to heaven.

I meant this to be short, but, well, sometimes I talk too much. I just hope you get my drift here. Just stop worrying about what others believe, just understand your belief in God, and help others, putting out the word about the Lord. You can't go wrong.

I accept that there is a higher power. Whatever his or her name is it doesnt really matter cause many people from many walks of life refer to him or her differently.

My grandmother is one of those religious fanitics and actually donates much of her money to one of those "Servants" of God. And she aint got much money. Gaint ripoff artists imo.

I just think its absurd for people to truly believe that if one person has a different belief then yours about heaven and earth they will go to hell. Or if they do not go to church or read the bible they cant get into heaven.

That sorta thinken is really no different then the way radical muslims think. They just take it to the extreme and blow chit up vs. debate it.

So I DO believe in him or her. How you lead ur life and how you treat others will dictate who goes on. Thats what many believe and thankfully they think that way.
