It seems to me alot of people enjoy both boards, no sense slammin' em.

+1 I've been a member of both boards and have never had issues with either of them.

While the technical support you can get here is very good, I always felt that it was better explained by Steve Wood on the other board. Usually I would post the same question on both forums to get the best of both worlds...but it was usually Steve Wood that would come through for me in the end. But hands down, the Marketplace and Regional sub-forums here had way more traffic than the similar sections of the other board.

if that happened here that would be great to finally get some changes for the better,
and some solid rules to play by instead of the profit strategy carrying priority
having more weight then any rule or insult or threat ever giving out.

i just learned recently the amount of $$$ and time it takes to do a forum like this one. and if mike savino was ready to move on, fair enough, but the only thing that sucks is who it went to.

over time i've learned tb.com is not completely my kind of forum, but i don't blame shane one bit for trying to keep this board moderated, and to cater so much to the paying vendors to try and keep it self-sustaining. it probably nowhere even compares to the rules and annoying ads that most other car forums have. plus, shane has true passion for these cars, and a good heart. although,... owning 3 boards shane why?

it was still lame. tech stuff was good tho. other then that lame

I have been a member on all the sites.My question is why is their very little traffic on the gnttype was this not the first Buick V6 site?I am not trying to stir any pot or anything as I do not know who owns what.I think this site has the best tech response,but some good archive stuff on the gnttype.Thanks for the info

Thanks for the offer Shane! MAGNA knows they are always welcome over here from my big mouth! lol I've actually talked many times with Travis way back when about doing something like that over here. MAGNA has actually been working on several options for sometime now about making a move. The sale of tbs.com may be the time to move forward on one of the options we have been working on. Trust me if we make any moves you'll be the first to know for sure!

My motorcycle forum was recently purchased by motorcycles.com, which is a Vertical Scope owned group. We haven't had a ton of issues like that article speaks of. I know of one..but I also don't know the whole story behind it.....so maybe it isn't VS that is the culprit..but autoguide.com (the one running the car forums) that is....

It pretty much breaks down like this... every one of the turbo Buick related forums out there have a certain personality to them. These turbo Buick sites are all generally ran by one or maybe 2 people at most. So if someone for whatever reason don't get along with that persons personality and or the rules and regulations of the site, well then they move to the next one because they have that option to do so. Everyone always lingers around on all these sites either way. I surf them all many times a day.

I was not crazy about this forum when I first got into the cars years back for whatever reason and I felt better on tbs.com. Over the years and especially after Shane and Jay took over command here, I felt better back here and moved back over here as my main turbo Buick site I surf 80 million times a day and actually post on.

While gntype is a wealth of information and I site I visit daily and would have a heart attack if it ever went away..., The over all personally of the site is not like this site. It too has it's own personality. While I think Scott does a great job over there its one of those things where you say... it's just how the bricks fall.

I've made many great friends on all these sites over the years and that alone makes it all worth while for me. It's all about the people and where you feel most comfortable. I've done a lot with these cars in the years I've owned them and I love to share any information I have with anyone looking for it. Like anything in life there is always a few people that you wish would go away forever as we ALL can't get along.... but that's why they make the ignore feature on the forums!

I gave up on that site when the owner gave up on it a few years ago. tb.com is the only place to be if you own a turbo Buick no matter how you slice it up!

From what I understand from my dad (who was around when the sites were newletters), TB.com was first...then some users got disgruntled and formed TBS.com. But i could be wrong. Has happened once before.
