What really gets me is when someone pulls in with a brand new car, so new it still has dealer tags on it and take home an award without doing more than singing on the dotted line.

I was at a show that had that happen and never went back to it. There is a car wash in Minnesota called "Perfect 10" and they host a rather large car show every year. Well, I have spent a lot of time and money on restoring my GN so I like to show it off. I went with the local GN club (in sig) and checked out the other cars that were there. This was in 2005 when the new Mustangs just came out. There were a few there, brand new, nothing done to them at all. They drew a rather large crowd of teenage girls and one of them took hom best of show. Seriously, a brand new car that had no effort put into it at all takes home best of show. That right there made that car show a joke to me and I never went back.

What also bugs me are those little crying Mexican or western dolls people put leaning on their bumper. Or the little peeing dogs, whats up with that?

I don't think I've ever seen one of these.

I hear you on the car show thing it's BS. Maybe we should start a thread called The Lamest Sh!t You've Seen at A Car Show and just post up tons of pics from all over the US. ;)

I swear I saw one at any decent size car show I attended. Maybe its a Minnesota thing, I havent been to a car show out in Oregon yet. I will most likely be going to a big one in a couple of weeks and will be on the look out for lame stuff. :D

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No I haven't... But I have seen a real Mexican doing that off the side of the FWY here in CA. It's always an 82 Accord 2dr with 4 different hub caps and 8 Mexicans standing around it. How did they fit in that car??????

Clown car! :D

People had stupid stuff like that all over the place in Minnesota.

at the car show that we had in franklinpark il on fri, guy i know pulled in with his t and when i looked inside he had chucky, his bride, and son in the backseat. was cool as hell! would love to see a cops response to seeing that on a routine stop at night on a dark street

When I lived in NC and went to car shows I saw tons of these things....dolls on the bumper (like in the pic), dogs urinating, dolls in the back seat....don't know why they do this with their cars at car shows, maybe that doll in the pic is envious it isn't driving that big blocked 67 Camaro?

OK I will probably catch it for this, but the reason for the toys is:
The car thing is MOSTLY a guy thing...Right? Well some women want to be involved in some manner. So they decide to make things a little more cute. Most of the time the guy is ok with it because it gets HER involved (approval).

Here in NC there is a lot of toys and dolls at the shows. This is my observation: The guy is wiping on the car and telling people the info on the car, while the gal is getting out and setting up the toys and sometimes helping on the wiping and such.

Look at the lady in the picture she thinks the doll is cute.

I'm not saying its right or wrong just an observation and there are always exceptions also.

Please LADIES don't flame me, my wife has her own 5.0 mustang with a sticker on the back window that says "Not His" and I am ok with that cause my Buick is faster anyway.

Haha, I know a girl with a TA that has "NOT HIS" as her license plates.

Ok so I went to a car show down the street tonight and some guy said...Wow so you installed a turbo on this SS? lol But what made my night was this smoking Hot Mom with her two little boys where walking through the show and she stopped at this 69 RS Camaro next to me and said my Dad had one of these guys it had a 327 small block in it. Then came to my car and said...You Guys Are Not Gonna Believe Me When I Say This. Oh look guys this is an 87 Buick Grand National the fastest production car ever made in 1987 that's rare. I didn't know what to say! I just smiled as they looked at it.

That's so beauuttifull, (said with a smile as I'm wiping tears from my eyes). :D

I never understood the doll on the bumper thing, my girlfriend and I are still trying to figure that one out. If somebody knows or figures out what the deal is, please let us all in on it.

Every car owner, regardless what you own, has to deal with the dumb questions. I have owned a dozen or so different specialty cars over the last 20 years. All of them received dumb questions. But the one that stands above the rest by a far margin is the Fiero comments. I've owned 2 Fieros, both show cars, and the comments were beyond anything I have ever experienced with any other specialty vehicle. That has to be THE most understood American car of all time. The runner up would be my AMC Javelin.

The Turbo Buick owners have is easy when it comes to car cruise feedback.

Funny

I did that to a guy this year in Bowling Green Kevin. lol I pulled into the gas station with the rental car before heading back to Louisville for the NRA show and there was a GN right there from TX. The guy looked beat "tiered". I said that's one nice Mote Carlo Man Damn! This guy from TX "sighed" rolled his eyes and said IT'S NOT A MONTE CARLO F**K!!! I laughed and said I know I have a GN also don't you hate that! He did take to kindly to my sarcasm he just ignored me after that. He probably was arguing with his wife or something just before I pulled up. Bad timing I guess. :D

THAT IS FUNNY

Header Panel

I came back and found a 1" crack in my header panel over the DS headlight. I think I know who did it but didn't catch them at it.

THAT IS PUSHING IT TO FAR YOU PROBABLY HAD A BIG FINE LOOKING GIRL TAKING PICS WITH IT OPPS I JUST BROKE SOMETHING GOT TO GO.

Yep

OK, I went to a forth of july show that was kind of a train wreck but there were some movements.

Someone walked up to me and the car (in the sig below) and ask if it was original, I said yes. And then they asked "Did they make them in any color other than black?"

But better than than that was the KITT replica sitting beside me. Got so tired of asking questions like "is that the real KITT" I started answering them. "Yes it is, it drove itself here". AND THEY BELIEVED ME.

MY BROTHER CALLS MY GN KNIGHT RIDER BECAUSE OF THE GTA WHEELS

Weirdo questions & comments:

- Does it float?
- Did you know these can drive vertical?

Dumb questions & comments:

- Where is the radiator? (clearly visible, located in the same place as most cars)
- Where is the trunk? (clearly visible, located in the same place as most cars)

Expert opinions... this is where the uninformed try to sell you BS about your car:

- Reason they caught fire was because the engine can't breathe under a closed hood.
- That's a deathtrap with that plastic body, better hope you don't get in an accident.

The list is endless.

The AMC guys get some real good ones...

- Is that 327 a Chevy?
- Is that a Mopar engine?
- Who makes this car besides AMC?
