where's the best place to get carpet?

A google search of the phone number makes it look like here..... http://www.accmats.com where you can buy ACC Grand National carpet for $236.81 plus shipping.....

.....which looks a lot like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/400325150638 for $100 cheaper with free shipping.

I almost pulled the trigger on that carpet kit a couple weeks ago but the rainy weather and below freezing temps put me off. At that time I didn't know there was a problem with the color. I'll take faded black for free over green any day.

Me too!:D

^^^Thanks for the heads up. Maybe a deep cleaning is the way to go for me. The grey carpet in my Limited isn't faded, just old and dirty.

Personally, I'd rather go this route: http://www.nos4gn.com/servlet/the-418/Buick-Grand-National-parts/Detail

Sure, it's ACC, but it's a much higher grade that the ebay crap.

x2! Already have it out. May just give it a good washing. Not really hearing to many good things about any of this aftermarket stuff.

I installed the ACC in a 1980 Z28 that I restored years ago, and it was top notch, I was very pleased!

Got mine today from Highway Stars aka Nos4gn.Looks great, only took 3 days to get it but I'm thinking about going with some HARDWOOD FLOORS!!:D
So, looking at your name, you have a Limited T? What color carpet did you get? How does the carpet compare to the original? I really wanted to get some new grey carpet and 'T' mats.

I got the black for my GN.I got the premium with the heavy backing and it looks a little thicker than original!!

letr's get the record straight on carpet and ACC. i am V.P. of sales, been in carpet business since the 80's. 5 years ago, we had an issue with green dye migrating out of gray carpet. four things can be the cause. high heat during the molding process can cause the green pigment migrate to the surface of the fibers. second can be chlorides in salt or cleaners to bleach out the various blended colors in the dye mix. third is UV sun rays. the fourth can be a poor dye mix that doesn't permiate the yarn during the dye process. this turned out to be the biggest culprit back then. we buy our carpet from dorsett carpet in dalton, ga. we have bought from them for almost 6 years. i am on the front line with customer complaints of any kind. we guarantee our carpets for any quality issue for 12 months. full replacement. have never heard the government involvement story before, that's a first. all our carpet is 100% nylon. UV rays will degrade any nylon carpet, rot it out, bleach it white. i have factory carpet pieces showing this stored in my office. i don't know what the mfg date was on the green carpet, so i'm not able to help on that one. anyone who wants to chat on this can call me through the office @ 8006332358. as for heavy carpet we have a line that is twice the wt of our normal carpet. sadly, it has a dozen colors and none match well with your cars. hope this helps

It took me awhile, but going back through my old files I found my receipt for my ACC carpet. Bought it direct from factory in Nov 1995. My carpet did turn green, and it was not from sitting in the sun day after day. But I cannot say how long it was before I noticed it. Anyway, when new the carpet looked and fit great, and I have decided to give them another shot and have ordered it. Might give 'em a call and see what they say. I'm new to the board and I don't want to be known as the green carpet dude !!!

Got mine from Glen and Leslie at NOS4GN......with the extra backing on it like the original.....went in great! And great people to deal with. The carpet was ACC and it was perfect.

hello; Bruce Urie carpet looks good. Did all GN come with black carpeting? IMO a grey as in my T would be an improvement and maybe a little differant in a GN if there all black.
I see you got some ATT II rims on your ride. I'd like to see that.
