thanks guys. one more question, if you had to replace 2 or 3 parts in the trans with billet replacements which ones would they be?

With the trans brake I would do billet forward drum, input shaft and if mid to low tens with sub 1.5 60's a OD sun shell and planet as well. Call Lonnie he has everything you need he makes them in house

CK actually makes his own parts and sells quite a few of them to various vendors. CK would be my choice for billet parts as well.

I agree. stock OD ring gear and carrier are pretty weak....

Id go for the forward drum and carrier/ring gear first. I have never seen an input fail in a car slower than 10.0. In all the 200 4-R's ive done in the last few years 25% or more have cracks in the carrier splines.

I am not saying it hasn't happened,but in my 22 years of building 2004rs I haev never seen a broken input yet.
so if your on a budget leave this out,but it is for sure cheap insurance if hte trans has all the other parts also
