They say every cloud has a silver lining, well I have to agree.
After discussing a tranny build-up with Bruce over the phone, I decided he was the guy I wanted to do the work. So I told him I'd crate it up and ship it to him and that's when he stressed to me the importance of paying the extra bucks to have the transmission insured for $3500. He said he's seen bad stuff happen too many times and the insurance charge would be money well spent. He was right. During transit, the transmission sustained an impact severe enough to break the tranny's case wide open.
Internal damages are yet to be uncovered, but I just cringe at the thought of my precious BRF unit going end over end somewhere between Dallas and Sacramento.
Mark from PTS called me and broke the news to me and then the process of filing a claim began. Though it has taken weeks dealing with the 3rd party insurance company UPS uses, it's been well worth it. They covered my claim for a new transmission.
