BS in Information Technology
MBA (Masters in Business Administration)

Many IT certifications: CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCP+I, CNA, Network+, I-Net+, A+

Thought about pursuing a Ph.D, but being a single father to a 5 year old takes all of my time. Now it's more of a long-term goal, not necessarily a necessity.

When you're dead and gone, the level of education you have will not matter (everybody has different career, educational, and personal goals). In my opinion, only the quality time you've spent with your kids and teaching them to become better than you is all that matters.

EDI software specialist / consultant. EDI is Electronic Data Interchange...the exchange of business documents between companies electronically. I specialize in the EDI translation software running on mainframe and midrange boxes, OS/390 and AS/400's mostly.

I also manage and architect/design solutions centered around EDI with developement teams.
Early on when I generally wrote programs/code I found that 99.9% of the developers didn't want to document anything....so now I do all of the managing, design documentation, flow charting etc and then hand it over to people that just want to bang out code and then generally manage and test their work from start to finish.... Makes for a nitch business that I've been doing for over 18 years, the last 6 have been with my own company with 2 other partners.

If you have done any banking transactions thru Bank of New York or Chase, or used a phone at your work who has MCI or Verizon as its service provider, or purchased any Proctor and Gamble products, your data has processed thru a system that my company has built.

I am a CPA that works for a telecommunications company in Anchorage Alaska. My official title is Tax Senior Manager. I perform all of the corporate federal and state income tax work for the company. Been doing this kind of work since 1985. Looking to retire at age 60, which is only 9 years away. It will take some careful planning, since I have 3 kids, ages 9, 5 and 3.

I also am a member of an LLC that owns 59 apartments in Fairbanks, Ak. This is a company that I am involved with my two younger brothers, who do the property management. I do the accounting and tax return preparation, but essentially my interest in the company is as an investor. It provides a nice supplementry income.

That is crazy!!! We have similar jobs, similar secondary jobs, similar level of education, similar certifications, and similar aspirations of pursuing a Ph.D. And we're both single father's. My daughter is 5 y/o and yours is 4 y/o.

It's almost like the movie "Twins". Are you sure my mom wasn't knockin' boots with your dad or vice versa?

Are you a part-time pimp and just didn't list it as well? just kidding

Creative Manager... Figure that one out.

I'm the Art Director/Sr. graphic artist/webmaster at a large development company. We've built over 32 million S.F. of commercial real estate in the last 10 years. Been doing this job for 12 years and have a A.S. in graphic design and a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing.

Trying to get certified as a pimp, but everybody keeps saying it ain't easy.

I live there almost as much as I do here. I really don't drive mine enough and the vanes in the turbo rust and start sticking. Some good hard driving will take care of it. I do wish I still had my 7.3 but the 6.0 just has so much more power. Just waiting to see what the 6.4 will do, I really don't know about the filter on the exhaust, looks like a fire starter for sure.

BSP in Industral Tech. ECU 79

I am using Zack's computer and logged in as him. Dangit Jim

I'm a sergeant with a medium sized police dept. in Colorado. I have a BS in criminal justice/political science and a masters in public administration. I am seriously considering pursuing a doctorate in public administration.

How many of you graduated from a 4 year college or University?
If so, a degree in what?

Not to be rude, but it appears that the majority besides Sgrim and a couple others have "bue collar" jobs.

BS in Chemistry and Computer Science, PhD in Analytical Chemistry
My real love/specialty is Fourier transform mass spectrometry instrument development but I've worked with most types of mass spectrometers and most other general analytical instrumentation, and some laser systems (built a 50 watt carbon dioxide laser once for fun :)). Either worked on or around pretty much all the kinds of stuff you see in the labs on CSI, NCIS, etc. I needed a change a few years ago and took this job doing some project management and some engineering with a small company that makes various laboratory equipment for biology and chemistry labs. Anyone need a mass spectroscopist so I can get back to the lab? :)

12-years GM Parts experience, started @ $6.00/hr. as a parts driver, now parts manager, with what used to be the largest Cadillac dealership in the southeast & 3rd nationwide.

Well considering I purchased my car 7 years ago from the original poster (thanks Mike), I figured I'd go ahead and post. I am a Communications Technician for Canadian National Railroad. I deal with phones, switches, routers, fiber optics, modems, virtually anything having to do with data communications so that our dispatchers can change track switches with a mouse click, and many other fun stuff. Went to DeVry for 3 years as an electronics technician, spent a year job searching with a 50% response rate on my resume only to get offers of half of what I am making now. Got my foot in the door with the resume, got the job by a recommendation from someone I know. Just goes to show its not WHAT you know but WHO you know. Anyhow, only 31 more years till retirement. But I am looking forward to countless hours in the garage once that happens.
