this is a pretty interesting thread. a lot of you guys have some pretty awsome sounding jobs - and there's a couple that sound like they could appear on the TV show "Dirty Jobs" ;)

As for me, I'm a Mechanical Engineer. Specifically, commercial building HVAC systems and a little plumbing.

When I was growing up, I wanted to be a fighter pilot, a fireman or a race car driver. Where did I go wrong?

Retired from USAF, now an Instrumentation Design and Avionics Integration Engineer at Northrop Grumman.

ready for a good laugh?

I probably have one of the strangest job titles on this board!! My title is a Butt Prep/Vibrator Operator........I work for ALCOA in the primary metals division. We make and bake carbon anodes that are used in the smelting of aluminum. We also calcine petroleum coke. Some days i drive a caterpillar 980f payloader, unload railcars of coal tar pitch and other days i run the anode former(vibrator). Its steelworkers union. Its also very dirty(carbon) but a lot better than turning wrenches for a living. Before this job i was a line tech at a firestone service center. Worked my butt off for peanuts there. Airborne infantry before that.(4 years, 82nd)
