what converter is this

Pulled my 2004R the other day and the converter that was in there has what appears to be "Z" stamped all
the way around it.

Are there any other markings to ID this converter?

I don't think it's a D5. Probably explains why it wouldn't spin the tires in the rain with a TE44....

well i've pretty much worn out google searching for info on this converter. was really just curious about what it came out of and the specified stall speed.
 
What was your stall at 0 psi? I had a stock rebuild done on my trans years ago and it came back with a converter stalling about 1200 rpm :eek:
 
Looks like a cheapo DACCO rebuilt one to me. They were the only "gray" converter I ran across in all the years playing with the trannys.
 
If the tranny was painted grey as well it may have come from jasper. They seem to like grey for some reason, even on their converters.

Are you sure about the HDCB code?

H = Rear Wheel Drive 200C, 2004R, 700R4 etc.., 1.750” Hub Diameter, B-24 Family.
