want to upgrade turbo.....what are my choices?

i want to upgrade from my ta-49 to a PT61 or a TE63, or something close to that to help me get a 7.00@97-98mph, thats what i want to run, and i know right now the turbo is holding me back, so what are your opinions on this?

My advice is.....Turn the boost up before switching turbos! 20 psi is barely working that turbo. With some 110+ octane or an alky kit, you can get away with 23-24 psi. I ran a TA-49 a few years back....it liked 24-25 psi. You have a scanmaster, so keep your eye on knock. I ran 95-96mph in the 1/8th with 24-25 psi. Even with a 60-63 turbo you will have to run more than 20psi to reach your goals.

well, i normally run 23-25psi but i want more top end, this turbo falls off at the top end but runs like hell down bottom. i want something alittle bigger that has better top end. btw, running 20psi or 24psi it's only 1mph difference i think it's the turbo, cause i have everything else to support it.

TE-45A....will be much harder on anything smaller
