Valet or Self Park in Vegas

So I am taking the car on a roadtrip to Vegas, and I am trying to figure out which option would be the best.

Valet-car would be in a semi secured lot, with workers coming and going, might get some door dings and possible a valet could hit the gas to much when driving it.

Self Park-I pick where its parked and how it is parked. Bad thing lots of foot and car traffic, etc.

Anyone with some ideas throw them out there:smile:

Depending on where you are staying, the hotel should secure and insure your car completely. At least they should have video survelliance in the parking lot. I spoke to Jason Cramer about the same issue, try giving him a call and see what his suggestions are.

BTW it has been a while since I spoke to Jason, is the Buick event still happening in Vegas, would love to go if it is still on.

Slip the Valets a really BIG TIP & ask them to watch your baby.
or
find a self storage unit & offer to pay a day rate & lock your car up.

Nothing like money to motavaite people!

A little story from the 70's when I worked at gas station. That was when gas station were not self serv & had bays to fix cars.
Guy was visiting from another state & wanted his ORIG 2 seater cobra kept in overnight Saturday to Monday morning. he approached my boss ower with $50- incentive. My boss bit that money harder than a bass fish.

DOWNSIDE to Valets or Parking Garage attendants. They have friends that are in the auto parts resale business :(

this happend to me in BOSTON parking garage with my daily driver. I kept watching the attendant looking in peoples cars in front of me when they paid him & thought it was strange. He did same to me. I found out why he was doing that. He was checking out stereos. Called his Criminal buddies & told him what cars to rip stereos out of.

Never thought of the storage unit, seems like a good idea. I wonder if they offer insurance for your belongings in those. Around here the rent is usually around $100/month. That would be a good investment if one could be located in a good neighborhood.

Check the NET for LV storage sites. find one close to your hotel. email or call tham & ask for a DAY or Week Rate.

OR
Find a TURBObuick.COM buddy that will let you borrow space at his home.

Speaking on behalf of working for a law enforcement agency (you see our cars all over the strip!) i would leave your car at home. Our car theft last few years has led the nation. I wouldnt park it here as our casinos get a lot of cars stolen and it will hit the desert before you even have time to say state farm insurance. If you want better places to park it i would suggest staying on the outskirts, but if you absolutely have to stay in downtown or by the strip valet it or often just take one of the guys with you and give a lil extra tip if you know what i mean and tell them to watch it! Trust me money talks in this city! If you need garage space i would able to lend you my space for as long as you need it, just lemme know! Lets just put it this way if someone hits my house, they better bring a lot of ammo!

i agree with vetkilr, RENTAL CAR, noway ID take my TR there. Even insured u cant replace the blodd sweat and tears you have in your baby.

Thanks for all the tip's guy's.

I was thinking give the valet a nice $ tip and actually ride with him to where the car is parked and then cover it. Dont know if they let you do that though.

On the rental car thing, I was thinking of that, but I wanted a fun drive to Vegas, so I priced that Vette from Hertz:eek: It would cost me around $1500 for 1 week.

I dont plan to drive the car during the day or night there, I used to live there and I dont need my car wacked by some tourist who dosent know where they are going.

I love my car but this crap on theft, etc makes me mad as hell:mad:
My car was done early December 07 and I only have 1900 miles on it.

VETKILR thanks for the offer, shoot me a pm and maybe we can work something out.
