What are the preferred brands , places, types should be looking at?Price range?
I'd like to have a clicker wrench that is accurate and goes over 200lbs.
Can you guys give me your best ideas?
thx

Both my 3/8-drive & 1/2-drive are Snap-On, QT-series if I remember correctly. My 1/4-drive is a Snap-On electronic.

I used a borrowed Craftsman 3/8-drive years ago, once. I found out just in time that it was waaayyy off. The downfall of the electronic is the batteries, you just have to make sure you always have extras on hand.

To cover the range you are wanting you will need (2) different wrenches. The 3/8-drive will cover 20-100 or so, and the 1/2-drive will cover 50-250. I was also tought to never use (trust) the bottom 10% or top 10% margins of the wrench.

Find the nearest Murrays and be amazed at what they will tell you when you want to use their 250lb 1/2" torque wrench.

ME: Uh, I can just borrow it and return it for free with only a $50 down payment, or keep this new shiny looking torque wrench for $50??

Murrays: That's right sir.

ME: Ok, well I guess I'm never going back to Pep Boys for anything.

I've got a nice Craftsman that is 25 to 250 paid around $100 for it:biggrin:
