Hello: My name is Jerry Berger. I am considering buying a TE 62 turbo for my car. I have a Terry houston down pipe, and want to make certian that the puck on my downpipe will work with the hole on the TE62 turbo. I will appreciate your responses. Thanks Jerry Berger This is for a 86-87 intercooled car

New or used turbo?

Regardless of that, just ask the seller what size hole is in the exhaust housing.

Unless it has been ported for an external gate, or some large puck internal gate, it should work fine with that pipe.

Puck measurement should be 1 3/8" I believe, however it would be better if you measure yours exactly so you can have accurate data when you get the measurements of the turbo exhaust housing hole from the seller.

Normally you don't need a hole any bigger than 1 1/16" in the exhaust housing.

Most vendors sell turbos in the 1" hole range.

If it is a John Craig TE-62 no mods are needed with a THDP.
