Ok , so I am going to pull my tranny to replace the torq converter , and would like to fix the notorious rear main seal leak on the engine ? what's the latest and greatest for this issue ? thanks

Have you confirmed the the rear main seal is leaking?

I have had MANY GN's that the owners brought their car in and said the rear main is leaking, but I do not even remember the last time we have actually seen one leak?

Just because oil drips out of the converter cover does not mean that the rear main seal is the culprit.

No confirmation , just wanted to be prepared for when the trans comes out , so where do these cars usually leak when it comes form the trans inspection cover then ?

Most common leak is the rear of the valve covers.

Oil, can and will, blow out aftermarket breathers and run back on the valve cover rail. The oil pan can seep, and the oil supply and return for the turbo can have oil run along the pan rails and out the converter cover.

Welcome to the world of boost which helps oil leave the engine in various and hidden places! :)
