Radiator fan problem

One Cold Morning I went out to the garage for a shovel and noticed the Radiator Fan running. Does anyone know what might cause this and how to fix this problem? This is puzzling me.
Thanks

Most likely it is the delay relay for the fan, they go bad over time usually due to water and rust contamination and will run in the middle of the night for no reason and drain your battery. The relay is not needed, just disconnect it, it will be one less battery draining problem eliminated.

The delay relay is located on the drivers side fender, it is the largest one I believe it is the one closest to the firewall.

I've been meaning to remove my relay as well, but when I take it out, do I just unplug the harness or actually remove the whole relay. And does the harness just lay around then? Just trying to avoid jacking anything up in the process. Thanks....

I removed the whole relay on my GN, then I had a rubber cap laying around the garage that I put over the harness end and zip tied it on.
