Oil pan gasket?

What oil pan gasket are you guys using? I've always used cork but I didn't know if there is a better one and one I could buy locally? Also while my pan is off can I visually see if my rear main seal is bad?

if you are pulling your pan take the rear main off and inspect the rear main seal and bearings shouldn't be hard to install the new type of seal if you are there. also dont us the side peaces us high temp RTV instead. cork is the best
