First off, welcome to the world of Turbo Buicks.
We definitely need more info.
Here's a few questions to start.

- Is this an '86 - '87 intercooled car?
- Is this motor stock?
- Is the turbo stock or what size is it?
- Stock trans and converter?
- What bolt ons have been done?

These basic questions should get us a better picture of what you're working with.
Typically, if you have a bone stock car, down to the factory air box to tail pipe, you would see some lag from a dead stop punch.
Things that dramatically help spool up without changing your torque converter are,

- 3" Terry Houston style downpipe, with good cat back exhaust system.
- MAF pipe with K&N cone filter installed either directly to the MAF sensor or remotely mounted. Such as the Big Mouth cold air kits from TR Custom Parts 84-87 Turbo Regals, Olds G-Body Cars, S-10 Blazers/Pickups
- RJC Boost valve.

Those 3 items, will dramatically help spool up on a bone stock car, however, it is highly recommended that you upgrade the fuel system with even these basic items. Fuel system consisting of injectors with matching chip, fuel pump, hot wire kit for pump, and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with fp gauge. If you are just getting into these cars, I would highly recommend you visit Turbo Regal Web Site and read the spring cleaning articles before turning up the power. The factory converter is a low stall 12" lock up unit from the factory, and if everything is stock, spool up can be rough on the foot brake. Especially if you have any leaks in the headers, before the turbo.

And get a Scanmaster 2.1 on the car as soon as possible.
Let us know more about the car and we'll help as much as possible.
