How is everyone bringing along extra methanol when driving? Plastic screw cap containers, clean oil bottles, etc.. How would the methanol react in one of the aluminum fuel bottles? Like the ones used for camp stove fuels used in backpacking?

I just want to carry some spare and not get caught without it.

Plastic red gasoline containers available at any autoparts, home improvment store, larger retailer.

Or increase the system capacity to decrease your fill times.

I have used red plastic gas cans for years to hold Methonal. A five gallon one to get my supply with and a one gallon to carry in the trunk. There have been no effects on these containers.

My bottle in my system is a one liter plastic screw top aluminum camping container. It has been used continuously for the last ten years with absolutely no effect on the container.

I know everyone is concerned about how corrosive methonal is, but I think it is overblown. It isn't acid. My ten year old fogger is brass. I can take it out and it will have a white coating on it. You rub it off with a cloth and it looks almost new. I understand there have been some parts in pumps that have had problems, but it doesn't eat up everything.
