inner rear wheel well rotted out. need some advice on repair

the area were the sheet metal joins right above the frame is rotted out on the drivers side. I cant find the search of old posts i saw before with pics, But i remember one guy using thicker metal welded in place instead of 2 thin sheets joined together. Whats the easiest way to repair this. I already have the body off the frame for my resto. Ill take pics when i get home from work.

Did you get a chance to take a pic of where you're talking about?

i forgot to take pics lol. then remembered after i masked the wheel wells so i can spray primer on the body. so will need to wait till body is painted and masking is removed.

That is the easiest way to fix them. THat's how Keith and I did our cars anyway. I smeared a thick layer of por15 sealer over the por 15 I put on it after the repair. You can see the globs of sealer if you look but who really cares, right?
