Does size really matter?

Thought that would get some attention...

I just purchased part number 37644 wheel cylinders from Advance Auto Parts with the intent of swapping to the larger ones everyone is always talking about. I realize they are supposed to have the larger 7/8" bore compared to the factory 3/4" bore. From the outside, they both look identical. Is this normal? Is the size difference only referring to the interior? Just wanted some clarification before I battle those stupid little retention clips. Thanks.

you need to specify that they are for S10 manual brakes i usually have them look up 1985 s10 manual brake wheel cylinder when i get them
your part number i believe is just for any S10 which is same as whats in the Gn

But yes externally they are the same it's the bore size that's different.

i just cross referenced your # to the ones i usually get from wagner .. wc110261 ... and they are listed as 7/8 bore wheel cylinders so you got the right ones
