1992 half ton 4x4 doesn't go into four wheel drive.
It has the manual pull lever on the floor inside.
Apparently, in 92 they did away with the old style hubs - manual or auto locking.
Does anyone know anything about the actuator in the axle housing?

I have a '91 Chevy 1500 4x4 and it also has the floor shift for 4 wheel drive. The actuator in the axle housing is a common failure. The GM part # is 26013495 and list is around $162.81. GM warranty time to replace it is .3 of an hour.

they are very simple to replace... my fathers 92 3/4 ton 4wd did the same thing. we replaced it with this....

it is about 100 bucks and well worth it if you use your 4wd often.
