I have always wondered why 2 TTA tests performed by rival car magazines (Car and Driver and Motor Trend) could get vastly different results off the same car? Not that it matters but here goes.

Car and Driver (June 89)
0-60 4.6 sec
1/4 13.4
curb weight 3468 lbs

Motor Trend (March 89)
0-60 5.4 sec
1/4 14.1

The possible descrepancy between two times is due to (based on article) is due to 2 different Garrett Turbos installed on each car. The Car/Driver----AirResearch T3 Turbo 16.5 lbs max boost
Motor Trend-------AirResearch T2.5 Turbo 15.0 lbs max boost

Possibly the test vehicle provided to the Motor Trend mag (March) was an earlier prototype than the TTA offered to the Car/Driver test (June).

***Synopsis...there are a lot of car sites that have incorrect data regarding the TTA's true performance portential. Kudos to all "experienced" TTA owners who know how to spool off line and prayers to their competition who believe the T/A will run low 14s
