My 87 GN has 22K miles, ta49, 009, TH D/P, hotwire...etc
Last weekend I had it out for a cruise and got on it a bit. 20 lbs of boost with a mix of 110 and 93. FP at 48 PSI.
Heard a few popping sounds..then limped it home and smoke emitting from under the hood.
Pulled the valve covers and am getting some serious *exhaust sounding* noise from the passenger side as well as smoke coming from the rocker area and tailpipes..
Checked water and oil, no milkskake in either.
Car starts fine and no Check engine light..
Can anybody point me in the right direction before I tear this thing down??

get out the compression tester. it will tell you which cylinder. sounds like it popped into the intake valley.

Had the same problem last year, blew into lifter valley, 90 lbs on one cylinder.
Hissing noises from one valve cover
Gasket was blown but not a massive failure so no milkshake etc.
Just a little slim on the bottom of the intake.
Redid the heads when I took it apart two valve guides were gone too.

mine did the same thing. didnt blow out all the way but it was making a hiss sounds like a sweaky belt. had some blow by but that was it. pulled both heads and come to find out one of my stock heads had a crack in it between the valves.
