any gm techs here? passlock question

99 s-10 acts like a security issue, starter wont crank unless hold key in start for about 3-5 seconds. starts then dies.clean wiring.new ign.swtch.known good battery.only issue i see is fuel gauge pegged.m.t. 2500 says sending unit high.and seems to be some lateral movement in the key cyl. part of the ign. 50 amp. maxi fuse for ign. was blown. replaced along with ign. swtch.a wierd thing ....truck was idling....put in drive,then released park brake,killed engine?!
 
Doesnt sound like a passlock problem,
Especially if it blew a 50amp maxi fuse
I would start bychecking any wiring located any where near
the ebrake assembly or or ebrake cables possibly
 
thaks,did that too!.lol i went over to s-10forums and looked. SEVERAL folks are having the same problem....seems to need an updated calibration. hmmm most of the dealers are getting 80 bucks for this i see.:confused:
