I have an '87 GN that was built for speed but needs a good tune up to bring it to it's full potential. I'm located in central CA near the coast but could trailer the car any reasonable distance. Does anyone know of someone In CA that knows GN's and could tune this car for me and get it running in tip top shape? The local speed shop is just not into GN's. Please let me know if you know of anyone. Thanks, Rick

Glad you posted here. What is your setup? What are you Trying to tune with? Do you have a powerlogger? Who's chip? Turbo tweak? Is it a wideband chip or sd2? Alky pump or e85?

I could help out but if you know how to turn wrenches we can help you on the board.. not only will your car run better but you will learn how to make it.run better and not have to rely on others.

If be more than willing to help you but imop I don't think you need to waste your money.

Lou Czarnota can do it.

One of the very best in the business, he's in Lake Forest.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to get back to you on the set up as it's pretty involved. Actually, I am pretty good with the wrenches. In fact I just put a new roller cam and all new bearings and front timing in this car in a 2 car garage with no lift. lol Right now what is happening is that when I first start the car from cold it lopes like it has some monster cam in it which it doesn't but the cam is not stock. After a couple of minutes it goes to a nice smooth idle. When driving it, it only runs good when you're giving it the gas. If I try to cruise at a steady speed it kind of coughs and backfires. I'll tell you more on the set up later. Thanks, Rick

Hit up Dank GN on here and ask him if he can do the work on your car. His name is Chris Marin and he actually is part of our company RPS, and has his own company for building Buick motors called Black Arts Automotive Turbo Buick Specialists. He does excellent work and is located in Palmdale. Here is a link to his engine-building company: https://www.facebook.com/dankgn/

He just dyno'd is Stage 2 car and made 745rwhp at 17psi and just 1 450lph fuel pump on a Boost-a-Pump!! Only reason he didn't make more power was because he ran out of fuel pump!

I did a search for Dank GN on this site and nothing came up. The engine is fine. I just need someone that can tune up the car to get it running right you know like setting the timing and fuel pressure, etc. etc.. Will Chris be able to do that? What's the name of his business in Palmdale? Thanks, Rick

Chris (dankGN in Palmdale works out of his home) ‭(661) 993-8277‬...

Kenny Duttweiler @ Duttweiler Performance in Ventura (805)659-3648 ..... he’s usually super busy and doesn’t take in anything other than full motor builds. I wouldn’t call Kenny now, we have a huge county wide fire at the moment. I’m sure he’s taking care of his personal needs

Yes, he could do that for you. Easily.

Besides being part of RPS (our company) Chris also has his own side company called Black Arts Automotive. Here is the link to it : https://www.facebook.com/dankgn/

I would call him or hit him up on Facebook.

Chris is a knowledgeable and honest guy.

If he's close, take advantage of his services/help.
