Would a 6262 journal bearing turbo be too big for a stock long block? will have a 2800 ptc converter, 60# injectors, alky. thanks

subcribing. Would love to know, I was planning on running the 6262 or 6265 with the stock engine and that converter.

I agree the 6262 might work well, but do any of you with this 6262 have any good time track time or boost control issues?

Which Turbo?

I seen this comment in another thread. I have no track time nor any drive time on mine as I'm waiting on my TT chip to get back.

We have run 11.20 at over 120 with the 6262Billet with a loosened D5 convertor, motor was all stock with te exception of replacement valve springs

I also have stock cam and heads. Valve spring will be the last thing I do until she brakes.

It took me forever to finally choose. Good Luck!!

Steve

I have my boost set for 25(low)-30psi(high) and run a deltagate external....no control issues here...boost comes on quick and stays solid to redline....

Nice dyno numbers. Is that with the 6262 and was the converter locked?
Thanks, Scott

...those numbers were with the old 6152e with the TC locked ... but its not much of a difference...I just opted for the 6262 and sold the 6152e....very similar turbos in my opinion....

heres the 6262 moments before installation.. ;)

I had the PTC 3200 w/ 6262 and it was way too loose. I believe Dusty recommends the PTC 2800 for the 6262 turbo. Sounds like you do well.

Also, the 6262 hp ratings are 670 HP. Prolly too big for most of us with the stock long block. A set of good heads would really enhance the 6262. A 6057 might be better with a stock long block.

I ran 10.80@124 with a 6262 journal bearing. 100% stock motor and original valve springs. 0 pump 5 disc Vigilante. Boost was 29-30lbs. Through a Dutt neck IC too. :p

I have heard that a stock converter isn't bad with a 6262 DBB turbo. This makes me think a 2400 stall 10" would work well considering a stock converter would be around 1600-1800 stall. You'd be gaining 600-800 rpm stall plus loosing all that 12" rotating weight.

No question about it, the 2800 is plenty stall for the 6262.

You are my hero, I would love to do that.

just got back from the track and ran 11.7@111.19 with my 6262bb and 3200ptc with spinning my tires of the line 1.6 60ft
