Is there a bodyman in the house?

Ron's Restoration. If you can find a local Raleigh outfit called Ron's Restoration or Ron's auto-body, they did a color change on the sport coupe. Did a pretty good job too at a decent price. They have a lot of old metal moving through that shop and dont mark up like it's insurance work. They...

Need advice on early 70s 4X4 Trucks

Just bought some land, time to put the truck to work- However, my old IH Scout is really hard to find parts for, and I'm gonna need to work a truck really hard to do what I need to do. Also need it to be a pickup for hauling stone. Does anyone have suggestions for early 70s 4X4 trucks that...

Top 100 Guitarists according to Rolling Stone

Alex Lifeson of Rush won Guitar Player's Guitarist of the year so many times I think they kicked him off the ballot. Guess they didn't talk to any musicians to compile this list.

Stock emblem position on trunk for an 80?

OK, I lost the little piece of paper that had my pre-body work measurements. Would one of you guys with a 78-80 be willing to measure the position of the emblems on your trunk lid? Found NOS emblems, just gotta remember where they go. Thanks, George

    I need computer help

New IE may be the issue. I had this exact problem when I upgraded to IE6 on an older computer. Tried everything under the sun, but the fix was to back off to IE5.5- and stay there. A reinstall of IE6 produced the same result. There are veiled references in some of the Microsoft chat rooms to...

Cool things to do in Raleigh, NC?

Raleigh is a decent town to hang out in. You may want to check out Mitch's Tavern on Hillsborough St. in Raleigh- that's where part of Bull Durham was filmed. Also a good place to eat lunch and have a pitcher. The Char-Grill on Hillsborough towards downtown makes a really freakin' good...

    Early TR Gage pods?

Thanks for the feedback Rich, that makes sense 'bout the A pillar. I was looking a t the Autolites- they look like good product. The Caspers gauge will be feeding off an '87 setup, so no worries there. I took the easy way out on the engine...

    Early TR Gage pods?

Any of you guys with the pre-'82 TRs/Regals running aftermarket gages? How are you mouting them for visibility? I'd like to go with A-Pillar, but the dual pods I've seen on the web are for '82 and up. I'll be putting a caspers knock gage and a yet-to-be-determined boost gage in the TR...

    Dragstrip near Wake County NC?

Putting the carb/turbo draw-thru setup away for a rainy day in favor of an 87 SFI/IC setup. TA49, 009, THDP, etc. Been a long project. Turbo Tune in greensboro is doing the engine. Hopefully will be on the road and being broken in by Nov. So it's a stock apprearing early TR with a 1/2 vinyl...

    Dragstrip near Wake County NC?

I'd like to take my kid to a local drag race- he's starting to get interested in cars. Anybody know any tracks closer than Rockingham? Any recommendations on spectator-friendly events? Thanks, George

this dont look good at all (hurricane)

Good luck tomarrow Red, I'll be riding out the storm on the south side. I keep wondering if the track is gonna shift west too, which would be good news for you- and a repeat of Fran for me. Nothing left to do but pop a cold one and watch the wind come in. Later, George

    Almost together...

tyre fryer Yeah, it's gonna be a problem. I plan on running 3.23 in the rear for that reason, and fitting the widest tires I can. It'll be set up for 93 octane, but with a TA49, 009's, THDP, etc. traction will be at a premium. I may run low levels of boost on the street to keep the car safe...

    Almost together...

Well.. Jim, I caved :o I found an '87 engine out of a burned car (which turned out to have factory seals & really clean... I got lucky) and am doing the SFI/IC conversion. I'm keeping the old setup for a rainy day. The exterior/interior will be bone stock, and I will prolly be keeping...

OK, after 18 months the project is beginning to move more quickly. Hoping to have the car back on the road by end of October. Car will have a fresh engine, trans, diff, exhaust, etc. Man, did I let this snowball into a BIG project... looking forward to it. My main concern for the car after...
