    Cracked,wobbling crank damper?

Okay so this is weird. Got to look at this GN that a guy brought to me because he thought that a head gasket had let go. That story is here I took a good look at it today, his complaint was a coolant leak, a weird noise, and smoke from the engine. He was out driving it the other day when...

    Headgasket advice.

Hey all, I spent some time searching for an answer to my questions, but I didn't find anything very clear one way or another. Story time first. A few years ago I built a GN up for a friend of mine, he recived it as a basket case in many many boxes. The long and the short of it was we...

    2000 Yukon Fuel Pump?

When is the last time the fuel filter was changed? Typically a new filter will quiet the pump down a fair bit. Tony

What vehicle has ever defeated you mechanically?

In defense of your buddy the service manuals have been wrong on that procedure for years. They still haven't fixed it. Ask me how I know. The funny thing is when the cams are 180 out they will still run just fine, till ya get into it. Imagine a 3.4 liter 3 cylinder. Thats what...

    Defroster/Heater problem

Depends on the ambient temp. Low temp = low pressure= quick cycling. ;) Although the car likley is a bit low on charge. Disconnect the pressure cycling switch on the accumulator for the winter if you'd like to get rid of the compressor cycle. Tony

    Defroster/Heater problem

It is normal for the compressor to cycle on when in the defrost position. Tony

    Gawd make it stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My T type has a similar rattle. It's the linkage from the tranny tp the steering column. The bushings wear and the rod that runs from the column to the sector makes just that noise. Next time it does it grab the part of the column that twists when you shift gears and give it a bit of a...

Is this GNX #200 for REAL???

Belive it or not that is an actual GNX. Dude really did hack it up like that. Last I heard his wife was daily driving it, door dings to prove it. The guy tells everybody that it is a 10 second ride, but AFAIK it has never been down the track or on a dyno. Sad but true, Tony

    Alberta Turbo Buick

There isn't really a big TR scene in edmonton. Us syty people cruise and hang out together quite a bit, but no big gatherings. We are kinda planning some sort of turboGM get-together for some time later in the summer. A few of us go to the mainstreet cruisers deal on wednesday nights in...

Well, to be brutally honest the only things worth keeping are the crank and block. Other that that what ever you can get for the scrap metal. I'd say 100bux. Tony

    Problem with 1997 Bravada

Hmmm, that jogged my brain a bit. I've had a few instances where a remote starter was improperly installed. It wouldn't power up the tranny when you used it to start the car. In that situation the codes would stay current even after the key was inserted and the switch was turned on...
